I will try to limit projections to our impact players/starters. All seniors are eligible for another year, so some may return, although it's tough to project. * indicates possible early entries.

This is the #2 class nationally according to 247 Sports.

OSU will have to replace a lot of experienced players, especially on defense. But, as we saw against Alabama, hopefully some youth and athleticism can be injected into that defense if we want to compete with the top dogs.

Biggest question is QB, of course.

In a perfect world, Stroud and Miller would be entering their 2nd full spring and would have a decent amount of game experience in mop up duty. Instead, we have no idea. Luckily, between them and McCord, we have 3 very highly rated guys. Day will just have to make the right choice based on limited info.

Not worried at all about the rest of the skill guys. Yeah, losing Olave and Sermon will sting, but our WR recruiting has been bonkers, plus 2 incoming stud froshs at RB. Ruckert leaving would be a bit of a blow, but still.

Myers is the big question at OLine. Still, NPF and Paris are solid at T and Miller will be fine at G/C. Jones has starting experience and we have depth. We'll be fine either way.

Back 7 is a mystery. Good luck to whoever plays.

I don't see Wilson listed. Is he back, or draft eligible? I assume he'll be gone as soon as he's draft eligible.

Looks like a “down” year on paper. Can still sweep the Big Ten. Too much uncertainty though.

Could definitely see Sermon come back to try to boost his draft stock.

He's put in four years of college and is already committed to the Senior Bowl. I guess never say never, but I highly doubt he's coming back. They'll have to sort out that room (Teague/Williams/Crowley/Chambers/Henderson/Pryor) for next season.

Yeah, he's had enough injuries to risk more injuries. Fields and Davis were going pro anyway, but doubly sure after they had injury scares this postseason.

QB-Stroud/Miller/McCord I don't think we find out in the Spring, will be a fall camp battle to pick a winner.

RB-Henderson/Pryor- Teague, Crowley, and Chambers seem to be rotational guys at best. Maybe we see more of Miyan Williams, but I think we have to hope one of the FR step up in a big way.

WR-Wilson, Williams, Smith-Njigba, Fleming, and other youngsters should keep this as a top flight group.

TE- If Ruckert goes, which he probably should with a new QB, leaves us with Stover and ? So definitely will be a step down.

OL-Petite-Frere, Matthew Jones, and Harry Miller seem to be the 3 that should be shoe ins. Paris Johnson should have a leg up on the other OT spot. Could Donovan Jackson find his way into the conversation like Michael Jordan, we will see.

DE-Jean Baptiste, Zach Harrison, Tyler Friday, Tyreke Smith have all gotten playing time as DE's and haven't flashed the way we have wanted them to. Noah Potter was a big time recruit and Jack Sawyer is another 5* recruit that should be in the rotation. Will definitely need Larry to work his magic and 1 or 2 of these guys to step up and bring the pressure.

DT-Vincent, Cage, Henry-Young, Hamilton all got time this year. Will be tough to replace how well Togiai/Garrett were, but hopefully they get more help from the DE's at disrupting the other teams OL.

LB-Were Gant/Mitchell/Pope just not good enough to beat out the 4 outgoing LBS? We will definitely have that answer next year. These guys were all highly rated, but just haven't had the opportunity to beat out the veteran group.

CB-Brown/Banks are coming back. Will need to see a Cavazos or Johnson to step up or one of the incoming guys make an instant impact?
S-Hooker started the season but lost his job to Proctor as the season went on. Ransom saw some reps as a freshman and Williams looks to be more of a S/LB Bullet position but was hurt for the entire season.

Out of this entire team we have Wilson, 3 OL, and some rotation spots, but nothing that screams anyone should be entitled to a position if they have a weak spring/fall. Let the younger guys compete and truly play the best players that can help your team out. Also mentioned it another thread, if mattison retires then get someone else to help Coombs with the cover 1/3 because it is not his strong suit. He's used to Cover2/4 and then having to adapt your styles for your players are putting them in a tougher position. Also, keep your head up DBs. How many times was Smith wide open because a DB lost track of him. They made it way too easy.

It should be another fun year ahead of us.

Didn't know he was committed to the Senior Bowl. He's probably gone then - shame his college career ended the way it did.

How has our defensive back recruiting been? We really missed not having a shut down corner this season.

After smashing Clemson, I feel like we are in that 2nd tier with Alabama standing ahead of the rest of CFB (whereas before I would’ve put us at 2 with Bama/Clemson 1ab). They don’t win every year but they are a legit threat every year and are amidst a run of sustained success beyond anything we have seen in the modern game.

We saw very little of our backup QBs, but I’m stoked to see what Stroud can do if he wins the job. Glad to see some high ranked croots getting in too. Any chance that Henderson makes an impact in his first year? Teague has been around a while without managing to impress.

Edit: can’t believe we have to wait so long to beat Michigan again. A win this year ties the all time streak at 9 games, matching Michigan at the beginning of the rivalry. Should have it already but UM lucked out by skipping us.

Think you saw this year the lack of DB recruiting for a few years there. Reinforcements are coming though.

That changes so quickly.

Heading into this season, Clemson had won 2 of the last 3 with over the last 4 years. Clemson had 2 titles to Bamas 1. Bama missed the playoffs last year.

I still think it's Clemson and Bama together in the 1st tier.
