2021 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DEs typically break out in year 3. In 2023 we could have Sawyer and JT both peaking with Ewers taking over at QB.

Needless to say we are in for some great football. Ready to see Day take us back to the mountaintop.
In case you needed to get more hyped about Ryan Day, he's mentioned notably in this excellent video:

I'm loving this push for Reggie Bush to get his Heisman back and for the records to be reinstated.

OSU should do the same for the 2010 season. Tatgate was always an illegitimate scandal and might be the most illegitimate sports scandal ever. That's another win over Michigan, another Big Ten title and another Sugar Bowl title that was earned 100% legitimately and there's zero reason it should not be in the record books. Never should have been vacated to begin with.

LFG

People are quick to point out 2 things:
  • They broke the rules at the time
  • The new rules still don't allow what they did
But I offer 2 counterpoints:
  • Who gives a shit
  • STFU nerd

Color me convinced.

In all honesty it’s fucking absurd and unAmerican that guys can’t trade their own property for a free tattoo. But this has been beaten to death. I saw them win that sugar bowl with my own eyes, dgaf what record books say.

Those are OSUs rules, not the NCAA. And they prohibit sale of memorabilia, not trades...not sure if that matters.

Regardless, OSU actually vacated those wins, not the NCAA. So I wonder if OSU could simply reinstate them?

I remember it as OSU offered up vacating those wins as sanctions, and the NCAA said that plus 2012 bowl ban would be enough. I am sure the NCAA would have to "officially" re-instate those wins.

Rules are rules.

Or something like that.

Whoa

Interesting, so would he redshirt and then compete next year for the job against (presumably) whoever is still around? Edit: Looks like the article answered and he could compete for the job this season, but that feels unlikely given he's undecided and it's nearly August.

BTW, looking at some Media Days stuff and it looks like Day has the beard going again. He needs to keep it, works much better than the rosy-cheeked look.

The NIL benefits alone make it worth it for Ewers.

Being able to get on campus and essentially enter into one of the best QB environments in America make it similarly worth it.

Win for everyone involved.

I’m guessing this means two QBs will transfer rather than one. Not convinced this is the greatest thing for the QB room but regardless we have an uber talented QB locked in for the next 3 years at least.

Gotta love it.

Texas programs must be shitting themselves right now :chuckle:

Ewers is officially reclassifying and enrolling in time for fall camp.
This is shaping up to be one hell of a qb battle. Has there ever been 3 five stars & 1 four competing for a Qb job?
