2021 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It feels like a sitcom or something in here most times.

Yeah..... but that guy, on this definitely OSU message board, is not an OSU fan. :chuckle:
I am not quite sure what this means.

I am not quite sure what this means.

I responded to someone trying to drag Michigan. Now I am being told this person is not an OSU fan. Which made me chuckle, if this mostly resembles a 100% OSU board. Which were your words.

This opinion you guys have also goes against pretty much all of the discussion throughout this specific thread. Go look at the topics being discussed by everyone, including yourself. This notion that this is some OSU topic on an OSU board is just so lame to me. You guys are all being way too sensitive about what is being said in a single thread, where literally an absolute thrift store of things is being discussed throughout the season. Then posturing that, post game, this is some holy thread where only Buckeye talk is happening.

People can get riled up and come at me if I am shit posting in non Michigan / OSU game threads. Or going in to things the OSU fans are discussing that clearly are about Ohio State and Ohio State only. In this thread, you personally talked about Oklahoma, Brian Kelly, Cincy, the SEC, Jalen Hurts.......I mean......it is a grab bag. Either it is a general thread or it isn't. It seems you want it to be a general thread when you have something to say and you want it to be an OSU thread when someone has something to say about Ohio State.

For the last time, do what you wish. Nobody is requesting mods ban you or anything. It’s just a goofy ass look for an otherwise good poster to be constantly clapping back every time someone comments on Michigan. Let’s be real, you do that because you’re sensitive to it, so calling others sensitive is… just … :chuckle:

By all means, continue, I think I’ve made my opinion clear and won’t continue to dirty it up in here.

What's funny? That someone in a OSU board that is posting happens not to be an OSU fan? I don't get the joke.

It's not that it wasn't about OSU, it was you trash talking about OSU. It's a general thread on an OSU board....and OSU fans don't like people talking trash about OSU on an OSU board. I am not so sure what's so hard to fathom about that. People are sensitive about their teams, which is why team specific boards exist. If I wanted to subject myself to opposite fans trashing my team, I'd still post at ESPN.com message boards.

It's allowed, just kinda a dick move, and well below the quality of your normal posts.

This is the general CFB thread. I actually appreciate hearing from fans of other teams and genuinely hope they continue posting in here.

I think where many of us became annoyed was when @I'mWithDan started lashing out while/after Michigan was getting smashed by Georgia. It's just kind of silly, honestly. Michigan whooped OSUs ass, we all saw it and get to live with it for the next year. OSU fans are allowed to enjoy Michigan's loss, there's no need to be so damn self conscious about it :chuckle: Again, at the end of the day, Michigan whooped OSUs ass and that's what really matters.

The equivalent would be an OSU fan lashing out against Michigan fans on a Pistons message board after getting smashed by Clemson in 2016. Like why? Yeah that game sucked and felt like a wasted opportunity (and I'm sure Michigan fans feel similar now), but that 2016 game will live on forever. Just like Michigan fans will be relishing the 2021 game for years to come.

I don't know, I feel like you all need to get on the same page here. :chuckle:

Fair enough though. We are all overly sensitive about our own teams.

THANK GOD

I've only been slamming my fist on the table for this for like 10 years now :chuckle:
3 permanent opponents, per the article.

I’d guess OSU would get Michigan, Penn St and MSU, but I wouldn’t mind playing Wisconsin every year either.

That's a tough trio to get assigned annually without divisions and Wisconsin wouldn't make that easier. How about we get the Illibuck back on every year and we can see Michigan State when we see 'em, just to balance it a bit.

Overall this is definitely preferable to the current system. More cool OOC matchups and hopefully seeing less of Rutgers/Maryland/Indiana.

I’m actually coming from the idea that we should try to make the B1G schedule as rigorous as possible. Without divisions, you won’t have situations like 2016 or this past year where we tie for the best record in the conference but get shut out of the title game because we lost a tiebreaker. Have a tough strength of sked for CFP purposes.

I do agree it’s good to see less Rutgers and Maryland.

Definitely less Rutgers and Maryland would be nice. Even if they’re being replaced by Illinois and Northwestern or something. There have been multiple years it seems like OSU starts with three non conference games followed by Rutgers and Maryland right after. Feels like they’re not even beginning traditional Big Ten play until mid-late October.

Considering the history between tOSU & Illinois, I suspect that would be 1 of the perm 3.. TTUN gets another spot.

Will be interesting to see how it works out...
