2021 Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's not a bust at the individual player level but it's looking like it might be a bust at the team building level, you will notice that the steps both players took this year didn't really show up in the won-lost record. As for who we draft this year, a lot of the top talents are guards, I've seen assessments that six of the top seven talents are guards.

There are several playmaking wings though. I think we should trade down if we have to.

Dude, defensive positioning to offense is more important. Okoro could probably play 2guard defensively in a Cade draft due to Cade's huge skill talent range. Suggs or Green??? He is just a undersized wing(which he is). Suggs playmaking is no better than Garlands.

For those conspiracy theorists, I see the NBA desperately wanting the Cavs to be relevant next year as Cleveland will host the All-Star game. Thus, it’s in the league’s best interest to have the Cavs win the lottery. Just saying.

You are overrating him there somewhat imo. I think he has a clear path to being a 6th man.
He is not 6'6 more likely 6'4" or less. He has limited length like 1 inch more than Sexton. He is a isolation specialist, that wants to be the 1st option on ball scorer. Maybe he will be, but not without massive improvements as a team player. He has irrational confidence, and not much chance he fits the Cavs idea of culture building lol. I bet they pass on him unless they are at 6 or 7 and even there they might value trading down.
Green could be the best isolation scorer in this draft, but that is all.
Personally think his hype is stronger than his game at this point.
Kobe wasn't actually 6'6 either. That was his height w/shoes (as the NBA used to list heights). He was reported to be just under 6'5 barefoot.

Jalen Green measured 6'4 barefoot 3 years ago. So, while I don't think the comp is quite right, they are similar sizes.

So if Houston drops to 5 (48% chance) then OKC will have 4 picks in the top 18. Cannot imagine they would hold onto all 4 (or even 3 if the HOU pick doesn’t convey), but also not sure the Cavs have anything of interest to Presti. Also very scary to deal with Presti. I’m wondering if he’s lining up a godfather deal for Luka or something.

More realistically, they would want to move off some of their second round picks. They will have 3 second round picks.

Cavs would need 1 or 2 I think to get anything from Presti

I'm new around here so if this is the wrong place to ask this my apologies but I was wondering what those of you who watch the G league think of Kuminga? I haven't watched him play.
Hey welcome!

Here’s another place where the draft was being talked about on here:

He has a high ceiling and a low floor. He doesn't have a relentless motor, but he has very special physical gifts. His shooting is a work in progress, but he is making progress. He is without question in play for the Cavs first pick, but fans would be in for an emotional rollercoaster as he develops.

Sure I was just pointing it out. The key difference for me is Green is not Kobe lol.
I do think Green is going to be something special like Sexton though :chuckle:

No. They will have three 1sts. The question is which ones.

If HOU stays in the top 4, than OKC will have their own pick, MIA pick(18), and now the BOS pick(16)

If HOU falls to 5, OKC will have their own pick, the HOU pick at 5, and the BOS pick at 16, with HOU then getting the MIA pick at 18

That said, overall, OKC has way more 1st round picks over the next five years than they can possibly draft, develop, and hold on to. It’s Ana amazing problem to have but they will need to be creative as time moves who they choose to prioritize and who they package together on deals for superstars or higher picks.

I think he has a low floor as a outside shooter, but besides that, he has a high floor as a impact player in the mid range, and paint ,offensively. I also think his basketball intelligence is top 6 lottery level for a forward, and his understanding defensively is at least as good as Okoro as a rookie. I don't think some fans will have patience, if he is chucking ill advised "bad shots", like he did after the Ignite team was just finishing out the season on a whiff. But it did allow for him to maybe fall to the Cavs at 7 should they not have great lottery luck again. Probably not, but if he falls to 4-9 range it is a no brainer imo.
