2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

27) Cleveland Browns: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

The Browns are having one of their best seasons in a long time and seem to be going full-speed ahead in securing a postseason bid. One clear weakness is the linebacker position, making the versatile Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah a perfect selection. Owusu-Koramoah, the former safety, has insane range and could be Cleveland’s answer to a division rival and last year’s MVP Lamar Jackson.

60) Cleveland Browns: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

91) Cleveland Browns: Xavier Thomas, EDGE, Clemson

95) Cleveland Browns: Marlon Tuipulotu, DT, USC

102) Cleveland Browns: Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

124) Cleveland Browns: Monty Rice, LB, Georgia

154) Cleveland Browns: Cade Mays, OL, Tennessee

188) Cleveland Browns: Thayer Munford, OT, Ohio State

220) Cleveland Browns: Skylar Thompson, QB, Kansas State

JOK isn't exactly a thumper (to put it mildly), but he may well be the kind of guy you need against some of the more mobile QB's.

I dk about that. Dude has absolutely hammered some RB’s causing fumbles. He has a ton of speed and covers pretty well, and is excellent at shooting gaps. He would be a great fit in this defense

The Browns definitely need more speed at LB, but no LB is keeping up with Lamar Jackson in the open field. Slowing down his run is schematic and mainly done by the defensive line.

Speed at LB and safety should be a priority this offseason IMO.

I watched the Duke game, and saw him get steamrolled by the RB more than once. Easily blocked by FB's and linemen, too. But very fast with pretty good instincts.

And in other news, Cincy had a catastrophic win today, dropping them from the #3 overall pick (everyone's got them penciled in for Penei Sewell) down to #6.

As of this moment, Miami (likely in the playoffs) has the #4 overall pick. Guh.

Houston (BOB) *LOVED* giving up 1st round picks for mediocre (at best) results. Its how we got Denzel. Guess its Miami's turn...

Miami ends up with the THIRD overall pick, Cincy at #5, Browns at 23 (for now).

23. Browns - OLB Joseph Ossai
54. Browns - CB Eric Stokes
88. Browns - S Richard LeCounte
93. Browns - ILB Baron Browning

23) Cleveland Browns: Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

Linebacker is a problem for the Browns. They have tried some rotations this year, but it just has not coalesced into anything concrete. The emergence of B.J. Goodson is a welcome sight, but it does not exempt them from taking a linebacker early.

Zaven Collins is an elite athlete at the position. Adept in coverage, Collins is freakishly good for his size laterally and in transition. This is a guy who can project well as the SAM linebacker in that 4-3 scheme. The Browns get their guy in this 4-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft.

54) Cleveland Browns: Jamien Sherwood, S, Auburn
88) Cleveland Browns: Tylan Wallace, WR, Oklahoma State
93) Cleveland Browns (via NO): Carlos Basham, EDGE, Wake Forest
102) Cleveland Browns (via PHI): Alim McNeill, IDL, NC State
119) Cleveland Browns: Merlin Robertson, LB, Arizona State

Who are the pass rushers and corners we should be looking at this draft?

We need a safety and linebacker early more than a corner.

Delpit might never be the same, BJ Goodson is our best LB and he is extremely average, although Phillips has looked good at times, i dont think he will ever be dominate, and all goo defenses have atleast one dominate LB.

I'm fine always drafting linebackers later in the draft. I think they're often more a product of what's on the field around them. Have a dominant defensive line that can keep your linebackers clean? People are going to think your linebackers are really good because they make more plays. Have a dominant secondary that restricts the pass? People are going to think your linebackers are better in coverage than they actually are.

In this past draft, the first player I wanted at linebacker was Logan Wilson at pick 65. In 2019, it would've been waiting until the fifth round.

Secondary and DL are where I focus my first and second round picks if I'm going defense (and right now, for this team, I likely am).

I agree that you can't count on Greedy or Delpit to actually be a starting-caliber player in the NFL. It's a shame because I absolutely loved Delpit.
