2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Playing around on The Draft Network today, here are my results:

22 - Azeez Ojulari - EDGE - Georgia (*Note: traded a 6th rounder up to 22) - Still only 20 years old and one of the younger guys available, Ojulari is the best pure rusher in this draft. He plays behind Clowney and Garrett, but could definitely make an impact in year one as a rotational player.

59 - Asante Samuel Jr. - CB - FSU - Inside or outside, Samuel actually reminds me quite a bit of Denzel Ward. He's undersized and a little undercoached, but his talent is immense.

72 - Tylan Wallace - WR - Oklahoma State - Such a tremendous value here, he's winning at every level of the field on tape. Seems like a really good all-around player who will join a talented group and develop as a Z

100 - Kendrick Greene - IOL - Illinois (*Note: traded back to pick up a 7th) - Can play C or G and really gets after it on the pull. So athletic and springy out of his stance, can absolutely maul people.

110 - Alim McNeil - DT - NC State - Former HS running back. Very athletic (8.8 RAS) who isn't needed to get many reps right now and can learn from three tremendous pros in Richardson, Jackson and Billings.

132 - Adrian Ealy - OT - Oklahoma - Rotational LT/RT who I don't think is quite ready to play yet. But would be a pick for the future of the OL as Conklin's contract guarantees run out.

211 - Garret Wallow - LB - TCU - Brings a speed to the LB position that is lacking, a great coverage player with good instincts.

229 - Damar Hamlin - S - PItt - Sure tackler from the high safety spot, one of the best pure football players on a loaded Pitt roster.

255 - Tony Poljan - TE - Virginia - Former QB at CMU, he is 6'7 with some good athleticism to develop as a rotational TE. Hopefully a guy you can get onto the Practice Squad

I’d be absolutely giddy if their first three picks shook out like that, even with my preference for Paye or Phillips.

So basically a lot of teams could be looking to trade picks this year for next year?

Are you saying because of the 667 players? I think agents arent signing everyone. There are less than 250 players drafted in the 7 rounds, that just means there will be about 400 UDFA available. Still enough for about 13 UDFA per a team.

This will effect the UDFA market more than the actual draft.

The one constant everyone's Browns mock draft has been taking a corner who's dad played in the NFL, lol

Do we think that Ojulari can play 4-3 DE? Every draft site I see has him as a 3-4 OLB

He's about 5lbs lighter than Olivier Vernon, with more length.

Absolutely in line with a 4-3 type of DE, and he's still just 20.

I think he's pretty scheme versatile, and he has plenty of experience in both coming from UGA.

With Richardson getting cut, jaylen twyman would be an interesting fit. Could probably be had with our 2nd rounder maybe even drop in the 3rd

How I think things will shake out:

26 & 59: Some combo of CB and DE
89 & 91: Some combo of LB and DT
110 & 132: Some combo of S, OT or WR
169 & 211 & 257:
Would be surprised if they make all these picks, otherwise I could see a QB or K added for some competition, and doubling up on any prime (OL, DL, DB) positions..

He tested terribly, seemed out of shape after being away from the Pitt program last year. He very much could be there in the third round, maybe fourth.

Perfect. I’ll manically laugh Twyman to the bank in the third or fourth. That’s great value.

Seems like a good time to post these Alim McNeill plays with no additional context.

Am I wrong that he’s more Billings than he is Richardson? He keeps getting mocked to us, so I keep watching tape, and I just see sort of a one dimensional hole plugger, which... is fine.

I like the power to speed he shows in these clips, particularly.

Sure, he can move you, but his ability to move laterally (3rd clip) seems about where you’d expect from an NFL caliber starter.

Another guy who is still just 20, they seem to prioritize guys who still might have a bit more physical growth.
