2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
All eyes will be on Gregory Rousseau at The U to see if he makes the jump.
As a Realbrownsfans admin I feel like you have no choice but to spend several weekends in Miami on assignment assuming there is a season. Perhaps you start working on how you are going to tell your wife the news now.

Probably.

I think there is a chance that a team might prefer Fields to Lawrence too

You can make T-Law look very pedestrian with a good pass rush. That is where him and Fields are different players. Fields may take a sack trying to do too much but some of his best plays were under pressure last year.

If we start 0-2 or 0-3 there will be a huge temptation to get the tank rolling, as a poor start will probably mean Baker ain’t the one.

While I agree it would not be a good start, but its hard to say that's the case when we don't know what the schedule looks like, and I would expect the first 25% of the season to be a learning curve with a new coach. I think we would know by mid point of the season on what we have in Baker, and if he goes back to 1st year Baker, or last year Baker.

Seems like a healed up Dylan Moses is the one name that stands out for the Browns.

Hopefully we aren't picking high enough to get him at our slotted selection but maybe a trade up if the defensive rooks play well and plug holes this year.

Only thing is that if we bench him for Keenum, we'd basically end up like the Fins with Fitzpatrick; Case is similar to Fitzy in that he's not-bad-enough to get you to 5-6 wins.

If we learned something from the Ravens draft, it’s that you can still draft very well even if you are drafting late in each round.

Let's be positive, and think about who we'll be drafting 32nd! ;)

It was wayyyy too early to start talking about 0-2 or 0-3 starts with this roster. I understand we want to keep our expectations low since following last offseason, but damn. We have a talented roster.

Who are some guys that will enter the suplimental draft once the NCAA cancels the season?

If you assume would be juniors would not be allowed, that would leave these guys off the top of my head, who I think were all 2020 draft eligible.

Travis Etienne
Chuba Hubbard
Najee Harris
Devonta Smoth
Sam Ehlinger
Marvin Wilson
Dylan Moses
Alex Leatherwood
Shaun Wade
Creed Humphrey

From a monetary perspective, I'm honestly not sure what is the right move for some of those guys though (supplemental vs. waiting for 2021 draft). I think out of that list, Ehlinger is probably the only guy who wouldn't be an early 1st round pick type player. All the others appear regularly in too early mocks.

If we decide to move on from Chubb (after next year), I would love to draft Hubbard. In the wayyy too early mocks, only Harris/Etienne are going in the 1st. Things of course will change, but if the FO decides Chubb is not worthy of a long/expensive contract extension (which you feel analytics would tell you no), then drafting Hubbard would be near the top of my list.

That CMC contract really made things interesting.

I would much prefer keeping Chubb the next two years, drafting a RB, and using the franchise tag on Chubb for the third year. That means we would get the first five years of his career. After that, you either franchise tag him for the sixth year and let him walk, or try to trade him.

It also depends what type of deal Chubb is willing to sign. If he is willing to take a front-loaded contract then I would be more than happy to extend him. The only bad outcome is a long extension that is back-loaded, ala what Gurley signed.

Has the Browns drafting at 18. This is a great way to get to know the names of the players in the draft:
Round 1 Pick 18 -LB Micah Parsons, Penn State
Round 2 Pick 18- Guard Wyatt Davis, OSU
Round 3 Pick 18- Safety Jacoby Stevens, LSU
Round 3 pick 29- WR Terrance Marshall Jr, LSU

Yep I kept up the LSU run the Browns have taken. Shored up 4 needs in this way too early mini mock 3 rd draft..
