2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting that you mention Favre. Serious question... in today's game, would a high 50's %/low 60% completion rate with a 2/1 TD/Int rate be acceptable for a QB? I'm not so sure. And that was Brett Favre for many years.
Yes, of course there is more into it than that, but just at face value.... 3000+ yards, 59% completion rate, say 28tds and 14 ints.... is that good enough TODAY? If that is Baker, is that good enough? Maybe, maybe it is good enough in this offense with a heavy running game.

Sure seems the way today's pass free game is going, 65% is the bottom acceptable rate, high 60's is better, and you better be better than a 2/1 TD/int ratio too.

Bingo. You accepted shit stats, because largely, quarterbacks weren’t where a team lived and died.

Times have changed.

I think it's good enough for a 3rd year QB who has had 4 different HCs in his short career in an offense whose identity is centered around the wide zone running scheme. It's why the Browns are 5-2. We just want to see improvement from Baker, and cutting the cord too soon is such a Brownsy thing to do.

Baker will always take risky throws. That's just his DNA. So it's likely he'll always throw double-digit interceptions each year. Let's just hope he can improve so that he's throwing 36ish TDs and 10 INTs in his career, instead of 28 and 14. The jury is still out on that.

Make no mistake about it though, we are not Super Bowl contenders this year for more reasons than just Baker.

Just 5 years ago Newton played in a super bowl throwing it at 59% completion.

Meanwhile last year Garropolo played in one at a 27-14 TD/INT albeit a higher comp%.

honestly don’t think comp% matters because it doesn’t apply the context on if you’re hitting bigger chunk plays or just dumping underneath.

The fact is Baker is good enough to win a super bowl with, the question is that enough for everyone? Clearly it’s not for a lot of people who want a Mahomes or Brady generational talent here.

Wish there there some way Tylan Wallace could slip to the 4th round. After this game against Texas though, I can’t imagine that being possible. Kid is legit

Tylan Wallace is the best WR in college football, and he has been for a few years.

Body control, ball skill wise, I’m not sure there’s been a comparable prospect in years who is a comparable size. Dude plays like he’s 6’5.

Justin Fields put up yet another outstanding display tonight versus Penn State. Poised in the pocket, spread the ball all around to a multitude of players. Especially a couple nice checkdowns to tight ends.

He was aided by some ridiculous receptions downfield and a dominant run game from Master Teague as well.

Really evident that they are grooming him for the next level and attempting to save and protect him for a playoff appearance with how little he was utilized as a runner. Did show some exceptional balance and skill rolling out and finding buckeyes downfield.

Supreme confidence shown in him from Coach Day as he elected to pass twice on 4th and 1 & then 4th and Goal. Justin also had a QB sneak for a crucial conversion along the way.

Also strong for the Buckeyes was their Defensive Line. Constantly getting quality penetration and moving L.O.S. seemingly three yards into the backfield on about three out of four plays. Then once in the pocket doing a great job of wrapping up or making the hit.

Olave is a stud.

Marcus Hooker, brother of Colts Saftey Malik had the game sealing pick off.

What's the forecast for the future of MasterTeague? I'd really be stunned if he drops any lower than round two come draft day despite all the analytical jargon about taking RBs early.

I honestly haven't dug into anything about Master Teague other than watching him on Saturday. I'd be shocked if he went higher than the third round. His best trait seems to be playing at Ohio State.

What do you see in him that separates him from *insert generic 220 lb back here*? I see him as a North-South runner with little lateral agility. He's not going to make people miss at the next level, and he's not some superhuman freak like Derrick Henry.

You make me pull a comp out of my ass for him and I'd bring up guys like Malcolm Brown, CJ Anderson and Terrance West.

Reminds me of Leroy Hoard. Pure straight line, no wiggle. Would not take him any higher than the 5th round and only if I was a team with and OL that consistently created large holes/lanes at the line of scrimmage. He’s a really good kid with great character but I don’t see much of a talent there. Not versatile enough to be a full tone starter on a team going up against really good defenses

This shit was stupid. Eve more wild throw then the cross the field throw without setting his feet last week.

Fell asleep at half time, trying to find the pick.

I watched the game live, and that throw got me out of my seat. As a former WR, those are the throws you dream about. He should've pulled that in.

Wilson is reminding me of a mix of Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes with his arm strength/talent, on-field personality, athleticism, football IQ, etc. Him running the offense with so many similarities as Stefanski's, while not staying on a single receiver, and feeding everyone, makes me want this kid going forward. Being able to have the next 5yrs on a rookie deal would allow them to keep and add more talent, as well. #SignMeUp

Wasn't that more Mack than Hoard?

Anyway, agree about Teague. Honestly seems more like a Mike Weber level kind of back than someone special.
