2021 Game #3 | #9 Ohio State vs. Tulsa | September 18th, 2021 @ 3:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This win is on Henderson and, surprisingly, our defense. Giving up 20 to Tulsa is not shocking, but nursing a 7 point lead for most of the game was not fun to watch, which is entirely an offensive issue. Our defense was giving things up early but had a strong 2nd half including a clutch 3rd down sack and some big picks. They will not be as good as we want them to be this season, we know this, but perhaps the changes implemented could result in a reasonably okay defense toward the end of the season.

Stroud was arguably solid in the first 2 games, but this was a really tough game for him. In the coming weeks it'll be interesting to see if he develops or flounders. Not ready to give up on him but his issues seemed more clear today since we couldn't get things going in the air.

I hope Day strongly considers a QB change this week

Someone else just need to at least gets some reps so we can see if they operate the offense better. Stroud is really playing in that middle ground tht he isn't bad enough to be pulled but he isn't good enough that the backup can come in to get some game reps.

He has flashes of competency, followed by abject mediocrity.. If he didn't have decent weapons, would be excusable. But he has a great running game, and capable recievers.. I just don't think he is ready for prime time..

This level of QB play is not gonna get it done in Big Ten play. It just isn’t. He needs to figure it out fast, or they absolutely will lose 2 more games at minimum.

I say that also in part because the defense is one of the worst I’ve seen at OSU, if not the worst. If that’s gonna remain the same, they need to be able to put 40+ up per week starting in conference play.

Is Jack Sawyer not as advertised?

I looked up Jack Miller's stats and looked at his high school highlights. He was a very willing runner in his freshman and sophomore years. He might be the logical choice to go to if we want that blend of a runner and passer at QB.

Just can’t make the throws.

Hasn’t shown it in practice, hasn’t shown it in the scrimmages.

McCord would be the number two choice if Stroud goes down.

Don’t believe they’re considering any changes, though.

Apparently Stroud had a shoulder injury
