2021 Game #9 | #5 Ohio State @ Nebraska | November 6th, 2021 @ 12 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They should jump OSU because OSU is a one loss team and doesnt have a win against a top 25 team. Big bad minessota just lost to illinois. UC beat top 10 ND by double digits. Stop being a blowhard.
So you’re saying they should’ve been ahead before this week, not jump them based on this performance?

I don’t know why you resort to name calling, in literally just trying to understand your argument.

Isn't the argument that Ohio State's best win is worse than it was last week while CIncy's is better?

Notre Dame will move up in the rankings, Minnesota will leave them. So the gap that existed between the two teams best wins is now wider.

My bad. My frustrations with the situation were being taken out here.

From my perspective UC should currently be ranked above OSU on resume. To me it seems like the CFP is ranking assuming OSU will go undefeated. Which i think is wrong. I think rankings should be on resume. If OSU wins the Big 10 it would be a much more interesting argument. But at this time… i dont think its close based on resumes.

Notre Dame beating Navy shouldn’t really affect things.

Minnesota losing hurts OSU a bit but Penn State might joint the rankings. And I don’t think OSU was 5 based a whole lot on on Minnesota, and if that’s offset of by PSU joining, then I don’t see that being a big difference.

And, I think Cincy only beating Tulsa by 8 hurts them, because OSU and Cincy now have 2 common opponents that OSU beat by way more.

I’ll certainly grant the argument if you think Cincy should already have been ahead. But I don’t see enough going in Cincys favor this week to have them jump. Maybe they do, but I don’t think so.

Which is fair. Maybe Cincy should be ahead. I think after Georgia, there’s a lot of different ways 2-8 coulda been ordered.

I dont think id gripe about a big 10 champ getting in. I think i would gripe about two SEC teams getting in. Esp if Bama was two loss.

Over an undefeated UC that is… in this particular year.

It's not Notre Dame beating Navy.

It's Notre Dame moving up in the rankings.

Last week Cincy had a win over the 9th best team on the road.

This week it'll at least be the 8th best team, maybe higher.

Now do I expect the committee to actually use their own rankings to determine any of this? No. They've made it clear what they want. Big name schools.

I am curious where they put Sparty. They are boxed in by Michigan IMO. After all, if OSU is behind Oregon then you can’t justify putting UM over Sparty.

I am not convinced the Irish move up. I think Sparty stays ahead of them since they are boxed in by Michigan.

Personally I'd drop State behind MIchigan.

It's not hard at all to convince yourself Michigan is the better team on a neutral field based on how that game went and what happened to Michigan State today.

Michigan domianted most of that game, choked it away. But it was on the road.

To be fair, i only care about UC getting a shot at the CFP because I put $100 on them to win it all at +15,000 before the season started.

As an alumn, i will be more than happy with a NY6 win and an undefeated season. And Regardless how it shakes Im proud of all the student athletes representing my alma mater.

Money corrupts us all.

If Cincy is jumping OSU because Wake Forest lost to UNC, how is that any dumber than the other stuff the committee gets piled on for?
