MLB will experiment this year in the minors with two versions of curtailing the shift: keeping infielders on the dirt, and then in the second half of the season possibly banning three infielders on one side of second base.
I am sure there are some varying opinions on this matter, but I would not like to see rule changes to limit shifting. Kudos to the defense (practitioners and designers)...it is incumbent on the hitters to make some adjustments...or just stay the course and hope that is good enough.

From the box scores, partial as they might be, I see nobody that has done anything that might justify being promoted to Cleveland.

Except for Owen Miller, who would have to change positions, and who would be better served playing every day than sitting in Cleveland.

Lets be honest. Jose, Hernandez, and Gimenez aren't going anywhere...and even if Miller was given a few weeks to learn a different position, he wouldn't be more than a bench piece.

It's missing almost half of their games played.

I'd take those stats with a grain of salt, if you are "seeing nobody has done anything that might justify being promoted".

These aren't straight forward games...a lot of situational stuff and games that are scheduled to go 7 innings or 12+ innings. These are meant to strictly keep pool players quarantined from the rest of the minor leaguers active, but it's far from a typical game they're playing at the alt-site.

Small sample size, but Cesar has been pretty bad this year and hasn't shown any signs of coming out of it. Hopefully he'll turn it around but if he doesn't, I wonder if the Indians may dump him elsewhere to give Miller and/or Freeman a shot in the 2nd half.

Do you know why TribeInsider is only posting some of them?

I have noticed a few times in the box scores where things don't quite add up, so the situational stuff makes sense as an explanation.

I don't know that I agree that there's anything Cesar needs to come out of.

So far this year, he's walking more, striking out less, barrelling the ball up more, and making higher-quality contact.

Honestly you are jumping the gun here with him... As long as what @Derek says stays true and the numbers say he will get the hit eventually we have no reason to move on from him this season. Now in 22, if Miller is ready for 2B in 22, we may not keep him, but this season he will be out 2B without a doubt baring injuries

No media allowed, just some coaches and scouts to tape/FO members for the teams. Makes a lot of the box scores non-existent or coming through word of mouth and translated to paper.

Any of the video clips you see from minors ST or the Alt-Site that is posted on Twitter are from a live stream straight to the scouting department when it is happening. Those streams are heavily detailed, so naturally the org doesn't like to release them fully, but they'll give some media members nibbles here and there. Scouts aren't going to compile a traditional box score, that's not their priority.

So a lot of the stats you are seeing is either from someone's scribbles while watching or word of mouth with no media presence there.

The only way I see us moving on from Hernandez this season is if he is extremely productive and if the team goes into the dumper. But those to IFs don't match.

I mean, I started with "small sample size" ;)

Cesar's stats don't look great, but like Franmil once those hard hits start finding some holes he turns into a positive fast. Some indicators point to a big year for him once he gets it going

Same with Jose. We have a couple of guys making better contact than they ever had before in their careers, and they just aren't being rewarded.

Thanks! I didn't think what they posted was complete by any means but also didn't realize just how much wasn't being reported on. Definitely lowers the significance of those numbers (which were already a small sample size to start with).

They're starting guys out in 2-0 or 0-2 counts in the middle of games. Yeah, need to be taken with a big ol' grain of salt.

I'm not worried about Cesar in the slightest. His numbers will come around. He's just too consistent of a player for them not to. Having said that, if his numbers do come around by the break and someone makes a good offer then I would consider it if Miller is still hitting the shit out of the ball. I'm not advocating for or against moving Cesar, but if the chips fall in such a manner that benefits this team then I'm open to options.

Here's the thing about Miller for me. I think this team can be vastly improved in 22, and I'm not writing them off this season either. Either way, I think Miller is an important piece for this team and I'd rather get him exposed at some point this season as opposed to next. That's just me though.

I'm gonna go ahead and put myself out on a limb by saying that Miller will give this team a boost offensively if Cesar gets injured or is dealt. There will be a slight downturn defensively, but make no mistake, Owen Miller can hit.
