2021 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Since we all jumped on the Will Benson train, he’s now in a 2-29 stretch…

Actually this is a good thing in the long term... Let's see how he recovers from the slump. That would tell me if he can make it in the bigs or not...

Noel hit a homer yesterday with a 115 mph exit velocity. His first two at bats today he’s hit 495 and 485 foot home runs (not sure if they use statcast in Low A or if it’s an estimate). Not too shabby for just coming back from the IL.

I think we need to see him at LC already... I feel like he will be legit in due time. He is Rule 5 next season, normally players that haven't hit AA aren't taken, but I feel like he's a man among boys at low A...

Alex call has a 2 run homer so far tonight. He now has 6 homers in 19 games since joining the Clippers.

What did this guy do in 2020 and the offseason and can we get some others to do it? I believe he is a quality defender as well (fact check requested) so maybe he is actually playing his way into legit consideration.

If he was in an organization like Baltimore, Detroit, Arizona etc, he could have found some MLB playing time (maybe even New York cause of the injuries)... I am just not sure he merits as a better player than the guys in front of him. Maybe if we move Eddie, HRam etc, you could see him just finish the season on the 40 man...

Saying that most of his HR are oppo shots might be an exaggeration, but it has to be close.

That video is doctored and it's obvious. The pitcher they used is a lefty--everyone knows Jones can't hit lefties.
Yeah well get his fraudulent ass up here ASAP if he's going to do that. Don't forget to tell him to bring his 1B mitt please.

I think you mean J Noel is R5 later this season. He was part of the same Int'l class as Valera/ Rocchio/ Bracho/ others..

While moving Jhonkensey up a level appears warranted, it also increases the need to protect him come mid November/ increases the chances he gets taken if not protected later this year..

Its a pick you poison situation. Let's see how the trade deadline shakes out (who is still here or dealt away) before making a decision to promote Noel or not..

I don't get how people can see this kind of rare oppo power from a young player (I mean, look where that thing went...if you've been to a game in Columbus you should understand how ridiculous a ball hit there by a lefty is), mixed with significantly above average on-base skills:

Then finally tapping into pull power this season, which results in things like this:

And saying he's no longer a top prospect because he struggled for the first 3 weeks of the season...

23 years old will be 24 next year. He needs to be on the roster opening day next year no matter what.

Noel w bombs. Move him up. I like bombers.

Also, OGonz w HR and 2B last night. Hitting .295 in Columbus. Had a laser to 3rd throwing out a runner too.

No he doesn’t
While I think saying Nolan Jones NEEDS to be on the Opening Day roster next season is over the top and I don't necessarily agree with it, if Nolan establishes that he is Major League ready, I don't see the argument for keeping in Columbus once the organization determines he's ready to go. While there are other players ahead of him in the outfield on the totem pole from an age and service time perspective, I don't think it's wise to prioritize players whose ceilings are substantially lower than Nolan's.

He absolutely has a chance to be a member of the opening day roster next year.
