2021 MLB Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I cringe every time I go to the Braves game and the drums start. It’s embarrassing. Go to a Hawks/Falcons/United game and it’s a completely different atmosphere and embraces the culture of Atlanta. The Braves are still hung up on being the team of the South.

I think what makes it even shittier is that it’s from the ‘90s and not some relic of the 1930s like Wahoo. People should have known better back then and damn sure should know better now.

With TFG leading the tomahawk chop and the cheating Astros, this World Series is unwatchable.

Edited to say I was hoping to see some conversations about the playoffs. Instead I come here to read this BS. Here's an idea. Keep your fucking political/ideological views out of here. Is that better DC?

What's unwatchable is watching you pathetic pussies wine and cry about this shit so I'm just gonna not check in on this thread anymore. Have a great night.
@CDAV45 - Calling everyone else a PATHETIC PUSSIE makes you not one ... I get it. It is pathetically sad but I get it.

Goes a long way to make sure nobody ever listens to a different point of view.

Sorry, but that post sounds like it is right out of a drunken stupor.

Braves got a strangle hold on this series now.

If they win this thing with no starting pitching, coupled with what the Ray's have been up to for awhile, the starting pitching market as a position is going to take a serious hit in value.

@jup
Have you already applied for the CLE minor league pitching coach opening??
With some of your detailed explanations regarding pitching in the past, I figured you might actually get an interview (if you were interested at all)...

I may know pitching but have no qualifications to be a coach at that level. But I appreciate the thought @MadThinker88.

The structure of what I do and what is done in a MLB organization are vastly different. What they do is not my cup of tea either. Enjoy what I do, don't need the money or headaches that come with a job like that even if I was qualified. And all I have to do is talk to my minor league guys to remind myself of that.

BTW, was out watching some of them play in the AZ Fall League last week and was disappointed to see the lack of fans. You would think top prospects like that would attract a little larger crowd.

There’s an edit comments button available to you. Might want to check it out.

My wife asked me who i wanted to win this fall classic.. I responded: Time.. the sooner it's over, the sooner we get onto rosterbation and manipulation of the off season..

Was talking with some friends about how the game has evolved @DCTribefan, and it may be because we are pitching guys, but the consensus was that the game is less interesting with starters NOT going deep.

It seems to have something to do with "name brands". We know starters as pitchers, in many ways intimately. But we don't really know the parade of relievers we now get once the "arm barn" gate opens. And somehow, that lack of relationship to the player seems to equate to disinterest.

Personally I had never gotten acquainted with Matzek. But after watching him get out of that bases loaded jam I am real clear who he is and what he does. And I am now very aware of the string of lefties that come out of the Braves pen. But somehow, I still "pay" to see those starting pitchers. It reminds me a lot of a spring training game in many ways - high levels of interest for the first few innings while the "name brand" guys are in, and then a loss of interest as all those big numbered jerseys start to replace them.

I have been to some that draw a little better @Gson , but you are right - scouts, family and friends. When the league started, I thought it might just be that it would take awhile to catch on, but it has been awhile now and it doesn't seem to have changed a lot. And I think that was the source of my disappointment - a lack of building a fan base.

But once again, kind of like the conversation about starting pitchers above, no real connection to the players themselves is probably the root cause. Just the same old ill that is the malaise of the MLB - a lack of understanding of how to promote there product.

That seems to be the general opinion outside of the fanbase in the markets themselves. Wouldn't surprise me if the TV ratings for this WS to be very bad when all is said and done.

Was in the airport the other day, six different TVs in three different eat places - college football, soccer, and TMZ, not one tuned to the WS. And they weren't even ranked teams, or ones local to the area. It was bad
