2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yup, and man, he uses it too. You see so many of these big wings with tantalizing physical tools who don't consistently apply those tools to play winning basketball. You can tell Franz really values every single possession on both ends of the court. Good formula to earn a lottery pick.

Nice passing too!

Sheesh. Looking at Michigan's 2021 recruiting class, I almost want to see Wagner go back.

They would have an NBA lineup, if you assume Jackson is ready to step in at the point.

They could go 7'2" / 6'10" / 6'9" / 6'8" / 6'5".

I'm trying to think of a recent college team that had that kind of size, with 3-4 of them being legit NBA prospects.

Yeah, that'd be fun. Don't think it's justifiable though. I was pretty surprised by Franz's modest freshman year numbers, but I guess chalk that up to youth and adjusting to a new country/culture. He looks every bit as good as advertised now and should have plenty of suitors in the first round.

I think it is a long shot for sure. He has really good numbers. Like shockingly good per 100, compared to the average NBA small forward prospect. His scoring volume lags a bit but Wagner has a good chance to land in the top 14-15 of NBA SF prospects in the possession era, in the PDIFF metric I follow most closely. Looking at the names, the hit rate is extremely high. Out of the guys with 3-4+ years service time, KJ McDaniels is really the only guy who was healthy and wasn't a good NBA player. The rest of the guys are people like Durant, Simmons, Crowder, Porter, George, Kawhi, OG, Covington, Warren, etc. And the "jury out" small forwards are players like Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, etc......who are guys who look like they will be top 10 VORP players in their respective classes.

Pretty amazing a player like that will be a fringe lotto pick. Speaks to how good this draft will likely be.

Also worth considering that he's young for his class...same age as all the top freshmen other than Moody. Very impressive.

Where do you guys see Luka going? some have him undrafted. We need big men, would you take him in the 2nd? I think he can be very efficient on offense as a bench player. He cant defend, and with Sexland our bigs have to be able to defend, but off the bench he might be a fit.

If you're watching the Garza show today, also keep an eye on Donta Scott (#24 for Maryland) and Keegan Murray (#15 for Iowa). Two versatile wings who could be interesting sleepers.

New mock draft from Vecenie over on the Athletic. Haven’t had a chance to read through it yet but he has Cade no 1 in a tier for himself, largely attributing his issues with finishing at the rim and lower passing Numbers to the team he’s playing on.

Suggs is second noting how much of a Luxury he is to Gonzaga and how absurd that team is. Mobley is 3rd going to the Cavs.

Sandro Mamukelashvili 7 footer that plays like a point guard.

Ooo I like Kai Jones at 14. Ballsy, but his ceiling is so high in the modern game.
