2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shooting percentages are also poor. 20% from 3, 60% from the line on the season. Late first seems about right to me.

I haven't even got to his stats, my concerns are from watching him play so far. If youre telling me the numbers confirm the concerns, hes on my "nah" list til the second round (*maybe* late 20s).

Eh, to me, he's a classic boom/bust late first rounder. One of the youngest players in the draft, unusual skills for his size, but also some glaring flaws that keep him out of lottery consideration.

Just looking at data, Cooper is one of the more interesting guys in this class.

He has horrendous shooting percentages but is actually a fairly efficient scorer given his volume.

My stuff slots him as right around average 1st round scoring efficiency, which doesn't sound impressive, but is somewhat relative to his shot volume per 100.

He profiles in my stuff as like an "off brand" Trae Young. :chuckle:

Jalen Johnson's assist/TO rates are now virtually identical to Cade's.

Based on everything we know about Koby's draft record (valuing culture, intensity, etc.), Scottie Barnes to me feels like the guy we'll be targeting. I'm worried about his shot, but he would be a great fit on this Cavs team if Sexton-Okoro is our backcourt of the future as the guy to run our offense ala Draymond and dominate games defensively. I kind of like the idea of a Sexton-Okoro-Windler-Barnes-Allen lineup going forward...

The last few games have made it (even more) clear that this team still needs an alpha. A guy that you can roll the ball to and go get a bucket at will. Collin still has mental lapses and would need help scoring, regardless. Garland is turning into a good floor general and complimentary scorer, not a dawg. Okoro struggling to hit layups shows he may be Tony Allen (in a good way) more than Kawhi. Windler is a big question mark, but also looks like a complimentary piece.

Get a true dawg, please.

Champagnie though...this guy is seriously averaging 20/12, shooting 40%+ from deep, and 3 stl+blk per game. Totally insane.

Was I the first one to mention him in here? Not sure I've ever been first :chuckle:

I'm going to ride with this guy through his hall of fame induction.

I'd never heard of him til you brought him up. It's a shame how bad his team is. There's nearly a 10-point gap in Box Plus/Minus between him and his next-best teammate, and I don't think I've ever seen that before.

So who is the strong character, relentless work ethic guy in the lotto? The Cavs clearly have a type.

I haven't really scouted guys beyond watching a few games, so I'm the wrong person to ask, but I like the question!

I started following Pitt just a little because they have (had?) a freshman from Brush HS on their team, John Hugley.

Given how bad the rest of his team is, it's amazing to me that his turnovers are so low. Typically, you see a guy like that doing way too much to get his 20 ppg with a high TO rate.

I watched a couple of their games last year because Xavier Johnson looked for a while like he might be a guy. If i was a scout I’d lie and say that’s when i saw Champagnie and I knew he was gonna be special :chuckle:
