2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Williams is heating up. What a draft for wings!

This is one of the Sierra Canyon kids that Bronny played with last year, right?

I want to live in a world where the Cavs are drafting and have both Jalen Johnson and Zaire Williams on the board.

Can tell a lot of these guys are not up to game speed. Williams has looked totally gassed in the second half :chuckle:

Big time schedule tomorrow:

TX/Greg Brown vs IN/Tracye Jackson-Davis at 1:30PM

Evan Mobley at 2:30

Ziaire Williams back on at 4

Villanova at 5

Duke(Jalen Johnson) vs Michigan State at 7:30

UK(Boston, Clarke, et al) vs Kansas at 9:30

Rough grades for the top prospects who've played so far (top-20 in hoopshype aggregate). Shouldn't be interpreted as a big board; just judging quality of play in their first few games.

Suggs: A
J. Johnson: A
Cunningham: B
Mobley: B
Christopher: B
Love: B
Boston: C
Garuba: C
Clarke: C
D. Johnson: D
Shannon: D
Brown: D

What is crazy about Cade specifically is that he has been kind of like a B- level through two games.....

And on a possession bases, he has still graded out as a plus guy.

He just does pretty much everything well. Will be interested to see where he is at 10/20/30 games......but it is really rare for a guys' "average" play to be that good.

For reference, Boston has shown flashes but even on a letter grade basis like you have shown above (C vs. Cade's B), there is a HUGE gulf here.

Again, this is just perspective, as a ridiculous amount will change.........but I do think it is a reminder of just how insanely high Cade's floor is.

Kinda basing it on two things:

1. 1-and-dones seem like a mixed bag. Not in a bad way...there are definitely some really good options unlike last year, and I think those guys will really separate themselves from the pack.

2. I don't see a whole lot of strength internationally, or in returning college players. That also points to a draft that may be strong in the top half of the lottery but shaky after that.

I don't know, there are already quite a few guys I like who probably end up late lottery/second half of 1st round. Probably role players, but there will be some really cool projects I think, especially with size/mobility/versatility that's so needed now.

But yes about the drop-off. The top of the draft just looks bonkers. What a change from last year.

We should really get a second 1rp. As high as possible.

Oh wow..
Ziare Williams shot looks pure. Very, very intriguing. He looks skinny with a small frame, which is disappointing, but man oh man, his shot looks special.
