I hope more and more prospects continue to go the G-League route. Love this.

At this point, it almost feels like why wouldn't they? They will (a) make a lot of money (legally), (b) not have to deal with the NCAA, and (c) play in a league whose existence is based on showcasing their talents.

I could see this becoming popular enough that the G-League eventually has multiple teams filled with good prospects competing against each other. Genius move by the NBA.

Why did he tag Cuban? Sign this man, Koby! Looking like Zion...

Everyone wants to compare Cade to Paul George, but he seems to he more of a Danny Granger type to me.

Here's a funny comparison (per-100 stats):

Player 1: 25.1 points (52% true shooting), 6.6 boards, 9.9 assists, 2.8 steals, 0.5 blocks, 4.2 turnovers, 2.7 fouls
Player 2: 23.8 points (51% true shooting), 9.1 boards, 10.4 assists, 2.9 steals, 1.0 blocks, 4.3 turnovers, 4.7 fouls

Player 1: Tre Jones (sophomore season)
Player 2: Scottie Barnes

Player 1: 6’1” and drafted in the second round after two seasons at Duke

Player 2: 6’9” and drafted ??? after his freshman year at FSU

on the latest episode of Sam Vecenie’s game theory podcast he and Matt Pennie discuss concerns regarding the top prospects in the class, and they touch on a lot of the issues discussed in this thread like Cade’s turnovers, Kuminga’s shooting, Green’s decision making, Mobley’s strength, etc. It’s well worth a listen for Those interested

Yeah, that's what I'm saying...there's a 6'9" freshman who's putting up basically the same numbers the ACC POY/DPOY point guard put up last year. It's hard to properly describe how unusual that is.

I really love his game. Good call @Nathan S

When people talk about Point Forwards Barnes is the prototype. Reminds me so much of really young Draymond breaking through for Izzo. I remember his sophomore year like it was yesterday. He was stuck behind Raymar Morgan for his senior year from Canton McKinley, adn there was another upperclass wing that started all the games for Izzo so Draymond was the 6th man and as soon as he checked into games, he took over as point guard for little Lucas, he became the floor general in the mid-post offense and took on whoever was the toughest defensive matchup.

HE propelled them to the final four and B10 title that year playing the exact role Barnes is playing for Hamilton but coming off the bench like Hamilton used Pat Williams last year. He was a fat 6'4 power forward, Barnes is ideal size and in shape, but the similarities to their approach to the game and their ability to impact winning is the exact same. Get guys involved on offense, quarterback the defense while shutting the opposing teams best player down (Draymond made life hell for Gordan Hayward in that semifinal game before fouling out)

Mark my words... 5 years from now, we're going to be wondering how Scottie Barnes did not go after Mobley, Kuminga and Green as #4. He's going to be the guy who turns a solid roster/collection of talent into a 2 or 3 time champion if he gets to the right situation

I definitely didn't see it coming. I remember looking at the RSCI rankings and being like "what's this non-shooting wing doing in the top-5 of a loaded class??" Now I understand...that playmaking ability, at 6'9", and with those wheels. You don't see it very often. He's gonna be very fun to watch in the NBA.
