Barnes will be more effective offensively in the NBA with more space
His shooting is a weakness. But his rebounding, in the context of his team situation, isn't a big concern to me. FSU's bigs, Koprivica, Gray, and Osborne, are all exceptional rebounders...there's just not much work left to do on the glass after those guys have had their share.
I agree, but I always feel like this implies the existence of a prospect who will be *less* effective offensively with more space, and I have yet to see evidence of any such prospect
With more space, are there prospect types who you just don't want to have the temptation to dribble? J.R. Smith?
I also think Jalen Johnson or Franz Wagner would look really nice in quite a few lineups for us.
How does Barnes fit with the Cavs? don't you think we need some shooting?
I would like to get more involved in the draft discusison, but when I see Scottie Barnes as a top pick based on what I've seen, I guess I don't know a damn thing about analyzing talent, or basketball in general.
After a rough start, Jalen Green is up to almost 3 apg with just 2.8 TO while averaging 1.6 steals
Over 55% inside the arc, 82% at the line, and 35% from the NBA 3PT line
I don't think being a bad defender in your first pro season necessarily means you project as a bad defender. One concern with Green is that his on/off splits are remarkably bad so far. Ignite is -96 in 450 minutes with him on the court, and +4 in 224 minutes with him on the bench. This is pretty much all happening on defense, where Ignite has been 12 points per 100 possessions worse with Green on the court. I think his offensive ceiling is high enough that he could be a star despite sub-par defense, but at that point his projected NBA role starts to look pretty similar to Sexton's, which isn't really what the Cavs need.
