2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yup. Not that he's exactly like TT, but just makes you think...by regular-season counting stats TT was a bust for a #4 pick, but on the other hand he was exactly what the Cavs needed in the 2016 finals. Garuba's kinda similar in that way; unspectacular regular-season stats, but has a way of rising to the occasion in big moments. So where does a guy like that get drafted?
They are the kind of guys contenders trade into the later teens and steal

We talked about it would be so awesome to get a top 3 pick and now some are asking to trade down or not even pick Cade, Green, nor Mobley? We have a legit chance to pick a talented player. If Cade and Green go 1 and 2, I would be ecstatic to have Mobley.

I love Barnes but with our roster I feel we need another offensive talent. If we had shooters in our lineup, I would be comfortable in picking him but I feel we just need someone who can be a threat. I hope we can get a mid-late first round pick and get someone like Giddey.

Agreed. Since I think Mobley is the likely pick at 3, that kind of makes up for not being able to get Barnes. The skills he has will transform the Cavs line ups.
And the team defense, to boot.

Cade was the one I wanted. Green would be cool for scoring purposes, but Mobley I think is an exceptional big man.

Quality game for Garuba vs. USA. He finished with 4 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 0 turnovers, and a team-high +11. Looked very much like a young Draymond, fighting for loose balls and making winning plays. Definitely earned himself more playing time going forward.

Draymond measured 6’7” (in shoes), 236 lbs with a 7’1 1/4” wingspan. Garuba looks very similar in size to Draymond.

Tough to tell from that angle, but my best guess is Garuba's about 1" bigger. Functionally very similar though.

Height looks very similar, maybe slightly shorter to me. He looks slender, like maybe 220 lbs. I’m guessing he’s 6’6 1/2” 220 lbs.

If you go by the top of their heads yeah, but their feet aren't aligned, so you can't really compare them accurately from that photo. Garuba's listed at 6'8" 230 and I think that's fairly accurate.

…and we know that players & agents would never exaggerate their measurements and they always tell the truth. :)

Wagner is giving me Haliburton vibes, where the on-court play may not be sexy but all the analytical numbers point to him being a very productive player, and making meaning contributions towards winning..

If the Cavs could acquire another lotto pick and come away with Wagner/Kispert/Moody on the backend of the lotto, I think it would set them up really well..

A Allen/Mobley/Wagner/Okoro/Garland starting five, all of a sudden becomes a pretty versatile and very strong defensive unit...
