Baffling move for Memphis
They’re targeting someone specific in the draft who would not have been there at #17. I also think Jonas is an upgrade over Steven Adams.

Jonas is in New Orleans now. He was Memphis’s best player last year.

I just don’t think moving up a handful of spots in the draft is worth what they lost.

Yes, my bad. I guess it depends on who they pick in the draft and what they become. I’ve heard Memphis is looking to move up again.

I just don't know that more young guys are what Memphis needs. If anything, they should be trying to consolidate a couple of younger guys into a single piece.

They had 10 guys who were legitimately solid to good players for the team last year plus JJJ who basically missed the entire season. Valanciunas and Kyle Anderson were the only two guys older than 25 (28 and 27, respectively).

This is a really good young core (last season's ages via bball ref)
Ja Morant - 21
Dillon Brooks - 25
Jaren Jackson Jr. - 21
Grayson Allen - 25
Brandon Clarke - 24
Desmond Bane - 22
D'Anthony Melton - 22
Xavier Tillman - 22
Tyus Jones - 24

Would have to think they're looking for a long-term big to play with JJJ. Maybe Sengun is their target.

I dont know how difficult Kyrie has been to work with, but if I had a shoe brand and i was a super star basketball player, I would want say in what it looks like. I dont blame Kyrie for this one.
Yeah, but maybe tell them that in private instead of publically blasting your high paying sponsor? Kyrie continues to make himself look like an ass in public.

Eh, its on brand for Kyrie though. Nike knew who he was when they made the shoe, lol
