What am I missing with Svi? He seems to be a low TS%, poor defending, negative career VORP scrub. He may be useful as an 8th/9th guy in a rotation, but he'd certainly be behind Sexland, Rubio, Okoro, and Windler for minutes.

He's literally only a shooter, but has only shot poorly. He was a deadly shooter in Europe and flashed it at times.

Yeah I thought he could help. He is older already though.

Deividas Sirvydis is still available and is young still. He is taller too 6'8". It really seems to me that they are going to package Sexton with next years pick to get somebody else. I don't see how anything else makes sense.

That's the impression I get too. The other viable option is being patient for another year, drafting a high lottery legitimate SF and moving Sexton to permeant first player off the bench.

That would be an absolutely great rotation though (assuming the newly drafted SF is a top 3 player on the team). Sexton with a bunch of ball movers is fine to run a second unit and his scoring would cause all kinds of issues.

I'm hoping more for the second route, if you can sign Collin to a nice deal. But I think the FO won't have the patience for that now, I think they want something guaranteed.

IF you draft a stud SF, you can also bring Okoro off the bench and sub one of Garland or Sexton out at any time if they are getting burned. It will be pretty hard to get rid of Sexton if they can't replace his production

A little help…..how many vet min contracts can on team sign? The Lakers have 15 on their roster (not including Rondo who just signed) and now they are linked to signing Deandre Jordan! That’s 17 contracts!

So I compared the Lakers roster to the 2012 NBA all star roster. They have SIX players from that 2012 team, they could field a whole lineup

Lebron
Westbrook
Carmelo
Dwight Howard
Rajan Rondo
Marc Gasol

they would TEAR THIS LEAGUE UP if it were only 2012!

they need to be patient, this team isn’t going anywhere for a few. Trading next years (likely lottery) pick unprotected or with minimal protections would be crazy unless they get some kind of godfather offer, which I doubt. They certainly wouldn’t do it just to unload Sexton for a rotation player

There is NOOOOOOO WAY Koby should even think about giving up any first rounders that aren’t top 10 protected for anything short of a superstar type player that is trying to force their way out of another city (and do we really a player like that on our team). If Koby even suggests a trade including a high first rounder the Cavs should tie cinder blocks around his ankles and dump him into Lake Erie (alive).
