Kawhi reportedly unhappy with the Clippers medical staff, just like in San Antonio. Maybe we can send somebody from the Cleveland Clinic to talk to his agent :chuckle:

Dont know if they share the same agent but this is a nice move for Penny, likely a 1-2 year masterclass mentor ship/finishing school under Brown, before Penny moves to the NBA

Can Larry Brown even get out of bed in the morning at 80?

So... it wasn’t like Crowder won the series or anything but why couldn’t LeBron elevate Crowder and now he starts for the suns and is a critical piece?

I don’t get it. Someone explain.

Crowder never wanted to be in Cleveland, held a grudge against JR, and pouted the whole time he was there.

I don't quite understand the question. Elevate him to what?

What is it this board thinks Jae Crowder is right now vs. what Jae Crowder has been?

Because he's the exact same player today he always has been his entire career.

Which is to say, not very good.

Yeah the Woj/Shams stuff always confuses me. How do they consistently break news before local beat writers who might have access to the agents or can refresh team press releases just the same? I used to think maybe beat writers are beating them but don't have the clout or followers on twitters but nope, they beat them too. Closest thing I found is agents/teams give them the scoop for so they themselves can decide the narrative. If that's the case can they even be considered journalists? Adam Schefter was so far ahead, that he sat on Aaron Rodgers wanting to leave Green Bay and dropped it on draft night lol.

There is some mutual info sharing between Woj/Shams with agent and teams. I'm sure Woj/Shams share relevant info with agent and teams that are never released to the public. Basically they built up this network that everyone relies on and Woj/Shams verify it before passing it on.

Like Woj/Shams had real time info from a league meeting that was only suppose to be players and teams when the bubble was being created. Players were like how do they have this info if we all just literally hung up on the call. Someone had to just added them to the call as a 3 way call so they could listen in. Same thing goes for how they get the info on the draft picks before are released. They are probably looped into the league's conference call where the picks are actually made.

Crowder is a 3 and D guy, our favorite term.

To say he isnt very good is disingenuous. To stay he is a star is false.

But Crowder has a place in the NBA.

10 points a game guy, decent length, good defender

35% from 3 for career....but this year 39% in 60 games and last year 44.5% for miami in limited games......both years shot about 6.5 a game....so decent volume for sure.

For Cleveland...33.6% from 3 on 3.6 shots....for the record, the next 2 years after Cleveland he shot worse than in Cleveland. Last year in Boston he shot 39.8, this year has been his 2nd best shooting year.

So his shooting has improved a bit, not a surprise as people work on his game, he has always been a 10 point scorer almost all from 3 shooting 35%-39% and giving you good D.....he is the quintessential 3 and D guy. He has a role

He's playing exactly the same way he was here. And no one liked watching him play.

When you watch him spurts and look at his boxscores, you imagine him being better than he is.

When he's actually on your team and you watch him every single night and have a rooting interest you see all of his flaws and his warts.

I also don't see how saying he isn't "very good" is disingenuous. He's a below average starting small forward. He plays for good teams because he's cheap. He's cheap because he's not that good, but he's big enough and plays fairly hard. Just very little skill whatsoever.

So Crowder is "good", just not "very good"?

Hes actually "not that good". Crowder is like PJ Tucker.
A big body that might get lucky and hit a few shots.

So Crowder is "good", just not "very good"?

No he's not good either.

He's a guy. There's umpteen of them out there.

He is a below average starter and has been his entire career. So I'd say that qualifies as not.very good.

He's average, at best.
