2021 NBA PLAYOFFS MEGA THREAD

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Giannis & The Bucks are everything right with basketball. I think its why many of us love the game. You have Giannis (we all know the story & his background) get picked in the middle of the 1st and become the hardest worker in the NBA and the humblest & most genuine athlete I've ever seen.

His co-pilot Kris Middleton was a 2nd round pick, traded, played in the gleague...and become and all star and now a champion 9 years later. Everyone else (everyone probably deserves a nod) works hard, gives it all on every play, and plays smart basketball. You do not see all of that anymore. AAU has poisoned players. Baiting calls, bitching if you don't get calls, over dribbling, dumber than shit, etc.

These guys play for one another. You didn't see that with the Suns. Honestly I don't think you saw it here in 2016. Hell, Kyrie wasn't even at the podium IIRC. No motives or agendas in Milwaukee. They are about as Anti-modern nba as possible and I welcome them as Champs.

The Antetekumbo (f spelling) story is a Disney movie with a storybook ending. Good for the players, organization & fans. They've all earned it. Live it up.

First and foremost, the Bucks played who was in front of them and earned this championship. I really like Giannis and it was so cool to see him win it.

With that said:

- The Nets took them to 7 games and OT in Game 7 without Kyrie, Harden injured, and KD having to play every minute of the game.
- The Lakers last year weren't a super team. Multiple teams have two stars, including Milwaukee.

As an NBA fan I'm excited to see if they can defend their title next year under what should be very different circumstances than there were this year.
Right ! But beyond that Giannis turned into an all time great drafted where he was drafted…Middleton became an all star..Same difference as who they played and how those rosters were when they played them…That all circumstance…

The point is they won a championship… There was no players forcing their way to Milwaukee… No players dictating who coach’s the roster etc…

That right there reminded me so much of like when Houston won in 94… Just a nice old school championship…

I legit cannot wait until the banana boat crew and Durant is gone and we can perhaps get more champions like this….. It’s refreshing…

I look at it in reverse, The bucks took the nets to 7 games. The nets stacked that team with multiple Allstars and HOF players, because of that I won't accept any excuses from that team.

LBJ just isn’t humble. Not his fault! The guy has been in the limelight since the 7th grade.
Ya and doesn't come off as genuine. Could be wrong, but if you have to point out traits about yourself....you're probably full of it.

Was this the formal ending of the LeBron era?

You hate to see it :chuckle:

I also love that they played out the growing pains with their young players. Giannis looked like he could've easily been dumped for a "better fitting piece" early in his career but they stuck with him. Khris Middelton even more so. Sure the team isn't totally homegrown ala GSW 15, but this is the kind of success I like to see in the NBA (with Denver and Atl the other recent top contenders built that way.)

Giannis...

That was one of the best finals games I saw from an individual.

Love that for him. He stayed loyal to the city of Milwaukee. Love that for them.

The other premadonnas and banana boat bitches don't like him, and I love for the sport that he doesn't want to be liked by them.

The NBA needed this
Ya....so we could have traded him for Kevin Love and felt even worse bc we had him under contract once.

Denver and Atlanta are very much like that… Would have no qualms watching them win it all as well…

It won't happen while AAU is alive.
