2021 NFL Draft: Day 1

I didn't even recognize him... Todd McShay looks like he put on a COVID 60. If you make me guess who this is without knowing, I'm guessing Jim Thome before Todd McShay.
I'm pretty sure he had some sort of health issue in the past 6 months. I heard him a few times on ESPN in January (I think) and he sounded like a stroke patient.

Blake Hance
That guy's story is amazing. He plays LG in the 4th quarter a playoff game and the QB didn't know who he was prior to the start of the game.

The Bears gave up two first round picks, a '21 4th and '22 5th to move up 9 spots for a QB.

I have to hand it to Dave Gettleman, that's a nice move for his team.

No they didn't. They gave up one first round pick to move up... unless you're counting the pick they moved up from, in which case "move up" wouldn't be accurate.

I feel like that's a low price for Chicago to pay for a franchise QB. Pace's job was on the line. I feel like you could've extorted him for more if you wanted. He doesn't care about Chicago's future if he's not there.

Two first round picks, meaning TY and 2022.

Pretty lopsided price for a jump relatively small, but that all seems to go out the window when QBs are involved.

I want an OL depth pick today. Can’t have enough corners or OL in the NFL.

I'm glad you brought this up, I believe the Browns have exactly one hole on the offensive roster - swing tackle.

I also need to check in with @Lee:

Let's just be clear--the price to move up 9 spots was a future first, and then the fourth and fifth rounders.

If you wanted to say the price for #11 was #20, a future first, and the fourth and fifth rounders, that would work as well.

I agree that it was a fine move for the Giants (although I didn't love them taking Toney at 20), but literally no Bears fans will care at all if Fields hits too.

Give it a rest, everyone knew what he meant.

It was very expensive to move up 9 spots but totally worth it if Fields is the player I think he'll be. This could be a rare trade where it's very good for both teams. Until Gettleman inevitably screws it up (he's off to a good start taking a WR in the first round when your team won 6 games the previous year).

Bears have made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years with what can't be much better than replace level QB play. An upgrade to adequate QB could be a big boon.

2 at best, not your finest work.

I forgot about the injury to Hubbard. If he cant play he will count about 5 mill against the cap as far as i can tell. Yeah, we need to draft a day 3 tackle.

Seems like they all work, but alright.
