Welp. Richard Sherman's career is done.

Ok, the tweet changed, its domestic violence, before it just said Burglary. He changed the tweet.

He might play again after a 8-16 game suspension, with his age that could be it, but he will be cheap now.

Denied bail but that is common for domestic violence per the ESPN article.

If he did this, fuck Richard Sherman, there is no reason to put your hands on a woman.

He was arrested outside the home, but he was trying to break in per the story. We will see.

So if Sherman was trying to break in, but never got in thus never hit her or laid her hands on her, will the treat this as harsh as he did? Right now it appears he is just n jail for trying to get in and then fighting with cops and resisting arrest. It doesnt look like he hit her, interesting.

He is married with kids to a woman he's been in a relationship since college at Stanford. I have a lot of questions.

Think the tweet mistakenly says "ex" in-laws, I do believe they're still married?

Not sure.
Okay so piecing things together.

Sherman got drunk, apparently tried/threatened to kill himself, drove while drunk(?), and tried to fight his uncle(?). Yes he is still married. His wife made a public statement that no he didn't harm anyone. Also the 911 dispatcher needs to be fired

It sounds like Sherman needs some real help with his life and I imagine public backlash will ultimately be minimal especially if he gets help.

Honestly it's reminds me of CTE .....

While that is possible, he also may just be struggling with some self-value. He has been a free agent all summer and clearly hasn't received the contract offer he expected. I'd probably have a bad night or two accepting I'm over the hill.

Holy crap, just noticed this:

20. AUSTIN CORBETT, LOS ANGELES RAMS
Overdrafted and thrown to the wolves early in his career, Corbett was in over his head when he first saw the field for the Browns. But with the Los Angeles Rams, he has developed into a solid starter at guard. He allowed one sack in 2020, but his run blocking is where we really saw improvement, and he was a big part of that offensive line getting back to a high level despite a transition in personnel.

I did really like Corbett going into the 2018 draft and felt like I whiffed pretty badly. Looks like he turned it around, even if the Browns can brag about having two guards in the top 10. Good for him!

Sherman reminds me of Jon Jones of the UFC. On camera, they often come across as very intelligent and even introspective guys. But they also can be very hot-headed and say/do some really awful stuff. It's really strange and confusing.

I'm still not buying PFF's ability to grade offensive linemen... but I'd also be lying if I said I watched enough Rams film from 2020 to check them.

Let's just say I'm skeptical of this grade.

You mean a bunch of fans sitting around coming up with grades about how they feel a player did on any given play may not be the best way to judge a player? :chuckle:

He was a violent blocker at University of Nevada. I saw what Eliot Wolf saw in his play when I was checking him out, but I saw him as a late third rounder.

Then he showed up to the Browns and talked like a nerdy stamp collector on "Hard Knocks" and "Building the Browns." They don't show the pre-draft interviews on these guys!

I don't think that was a Wolf guy, was it? I think Wolf was the one that did Takitaki's scouting.

Either way, this just goes more into Dorsey knew how to find talent, but no idea how to build a team. Corbett wasn't even close to being ready.

Oh man. This sucks.

He was one of my favorites. I loved the Legion of Boom. Those teams were so much fun.

He is a legend in Seattle. Damn.

Eliot signed off on Corbett in 2018 and TakiTaki in 2019.

Yeah. You don't have to say it... I agree.
