I do believe Todd Haley was forced on Hue. And I will always believe Haley took the job, expecting Hue to get fired midseason and thinking he'd be able to take over as HC and rehab his ability to be a HC..@huejack10 on Todd Haley as Offensive Coordinator "I think it was the biggest mistake I ever made...that was a bad marriage. I never should have done that (hired Haley)."

The conspiracy theorist in me believe he held back some of the playbook in '18, ready to fully unleash it after Hue was fired, so when they succeeded, he could say, "Look, it was Hue holding us back all along".
On one hand, yes, if Hue is admitting a mistake, then it's probably a mistake. If Hue could have blamed the hiring of Haley on someone else, he would have. But he seems to concede that it was his own poor decision.
You know my favorite Chiefs front office fuck-up?So on one of the football podcasts I listen to, the host pointed out that Kansas City signed Sammy Watkins to a bigger contract than Allen Robinson (who was a free agent the same year), drafted Mecole Hardman over DK Metcalf, and drafted CEH over Jonathan Taylor, JK Dobbins, and D'Andre Swift.
We should be thanking our lucky stars they fucked up like that, because the AFC window is wide open right now.
Not a bad deal for each organization.
Not a bad deal for each organization.
I think the Panthers are building a strong team over there. They're quietly feeling very much like the NFC Colts to me.
So Baker, Jackson, and Allen left on their original teams that drafted them.

Eh. Allen and Jackson landed in perfect spots for them. Franchises that were already in good shape and willing to let the young QB develop.Lol, I'm pretty sure my QB list in the 2018 draft was:
1. Josh Rosen
2. Sam Darnold
3. Baker Mayfield
4. Josh Allen
5. Lamar Jackson
I'm such an idiot.
