2021 Season | Final Series | Indians @ Rangers | Oct. 1-3

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Clase in to finish the game and season...

6-3 for one out...

I just want to say thanks to everyone. Mods, and members. RCF is definitely the place to be for Indi-err Guardians talk.
I enjoyed everybody's takes. There are some very smart baseball people on this board. What I enjoyed is that everyone's opinion is welcomed. Most of the time those opinions were responded to, with reason, not name calling.
Well, there's always next season.

You never met @Birdy89

Fun times

Excited to be done with the academy and actually be in here again next year a lot more for the Ind- Tri-

Guardians.

Gose with 2 more Ks in a hitless inning.

Boy if he's for real we've got a nasty R-L punch in the back end of the bullpen. I don't see how they can leave him off the 40-man.

Agree with this... Gose is showing the kind of results that are clearly unique and effective at the highest level of baseball. Hopefully, he goes into the offseason with a plan to continue his improvement and proudly wears the Guardian's G starting the 2022 season....

EDIT: Sorry posted in the wrong place.. Will relocate...

Very sad to realize I will never see another Cleveland Indians game but I'm sure once the first pitch is thrown next season it will be all about the game and not the jersey.

It was great to see the franchise win the last game that they were known as the Indians. They went out a winner, at least for the last day if not the last season.

Yep, Gose looked phenomenal. Two K's and a bouncer back to the mound. He completely overmatched those hitters. He has to be in the plans for next year. Imagine if he started his career as a pitcher right out of high school instead of wasting eight years trying to be an outfielder. Maybe Bradley Zimmer will folllow in his footsteps.

That was a very impressive home run by Yu Chang - a fastball on the inside corner at the belt where he had to pull in his hands and was still able to get it over the wall in left when everybody else's drives were dying on the track. A great finish to a strong second half. I'd be fine with Chang starting at first or second base next year. Maybe a Naylor/Chang platoon at first base with Chang doubling as the utility infielder.

Nice to see Civale end the year with a win. He ended up 12-5 and had a shot at 20 wins if not for the injury.

This game might be the last we see of Wittgren, Zimmer, Shaw, and Mercado. Wittgren lost 9 games and had a 5.05 ERA. Shaw had seven losses and a 3.49 ERA. He'll be 34 next year and has pitched in nearly 700 games, including 81 this year. Zimmer and Mercado were like mirror images of each other. They both finished with an OPS of .669 - not what you need from a corner outfielder.

That's a wrap - the season is over.

I have a hunch one of Zimmer/Mercado will be back in 22 and likely Mercado since he isn't Arb eligible plus he is a right handed bat and we have Naylor, Jones, Kwan etc all likely to have a chance in the OF from the left side...
