2021 Season | Series #41 | Indians @ Royals | Aug. 31 - Sep. 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Touchdown BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Owen Miller with a 3 run homer, scoring a red-hot Yu Chang (reached on a single) and Harold (reached on an error)

Cleveland up 3-1 behind a cruising TMac - 4.0 2H 1ER 1BB 5K - only 52 pitches.

Well Yu Chang is making himself heard... His late season audition for 22 is going very well! My hot take on him is Urshela in 22...

Is TMac turning the corner so much he's becoming elite? @Gson
no.. not elite.. not even close.. the corner he's at is like the alphabet..he's about at the letter G... His stuff tonight was about as sharp and under control as he's had all season.. though..

What's left to go for him in the corner turn? He's cut down on the walks. He's always had the swing and miss. I'm seeing some more curveball.

Maybe elite is premature, but he looks like a #3 lately and less a guy who waffles between the 5th starter and Triple A. I really think Plesac will be our #5 next year. The development shown by Quail and TMac these last 2 months is significant. Quail damn near could be our #2 and a really good one. He's just lights out.

Agree with this..

I suppose the word that hangs the description up is "elite".. He's not that... but it's still very early in his career.. Hell, he's only 23 and making his first foray into the ML's.. What he may become is still open.. What I'd like to see most of all is more durability followed by better command and higher frequency of use of his change up.. He's been impossibly lucky with batted balls in play this season.. but, that's because the Indians rely so heavily on run prevention/defense to keep the opponents at bay.. The rest of his game is getting there..

Thoughts?

When you actually look at the profile of the batted balls McKenzie has allowed, he really hasn’t been lucky.

Yes, his BABIP is .202, but his xBA is just .205 with a .367 xSLG and a .299 xwOBA.

The quality of contact he has allowed is Jake Bauers-level production.
