2021 Season | Series #43 | Twins @ Indians | Sep. 6-9

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, it's unfortunate that Gonzalez isn't even an average defensive OFer, because there is some serious thunder in his bat. If he were then the decision would be easy.

I view Kwan more as a CFer, but if he continues to perform well then by all means put him in a corner. I don't think that he can post a 351/424/558/982 line over the course of a full season, but he doesn't really need to. Just continue to perform well.

Fuck it! Call them both up and see what happens. What is there really to lose at this point?

I have to say that Call might deserve a look as well. He's 26 and won't be a factor after this season IMO. He's a very good defensive OFer and is slashing 267/360/451/811 with good power.

Call's and Kwan's power numbers are fairly different this year than they have ever shown in the minors, so it's hard to say if it's an anomaly or not. Kwan though is younger than Call and on pace for a 20 HR season if he played a full season... Hard to see a rebuilding team not thinking about grabbing him in the rule 5 since his defense is a plus already and should do well as a 4th OF defensively, plus he hits from the left side and has a good contact skill with his bat and doesn't strike out a lot. He feels like he is from the same type of hitting tree as the Freeman, Miller, Clement trio... Hence why personally I'd add him to the 40 man roster

Good points Coach. He also doesn't suffer from a differential in his splits. He's having a solid season all the way around and has put himself on the radar. He doesn't look like an MLB OFer, but who gives a shit as long as he performs which he has done arguably better than any other OFer in the system this season.

He's still bigger than Altuve...

I believe Call is in the same boat as Oscar. Unless we roster them, rule 5 doesn't matter because they'll be free agents.

Edit. I do not see us rostering Call. But because he kind of put it together this year, someone will sign him and that could possibly include an invite to ML spring training.

I agree, we won't roster him and without a doubt we will try to retain him, Marabell etc but I think both guys are better off going to a weaker organization with openings...
