2021 Season | Series #47 | Royals @ Indians | Sep. 20-22

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I definitely do not agree with your listing, not gonna lie...

Freeman, Miller, Clement, Arias, Gimenez, Rocchio, Palacios, Tena, Martinez all play 2B... Bracho isn't ahead of any of those guys at the current moment depth chart wise.. and talent wise, the only one that hasn't been about equal to or above him rating wise is Clement in my mind..
If you change the chart from the five listed as 2B.. then disagree.. you're disagreeing with yourself..

Of the five listed at 2B.. Bracho is fifth... or Freeman, Rocchio, Clement and Palacios are ahead of Bracho.. or the order listed for the five guys....

No not at all...

Bracho at the current moment is behind like 9ish guys when it comes to 2nd Base since all our MIF prospects can play 2B defensively...

If you aren't counting Amed, who is still only 25...

SS...Gimenez, Rocchio, Arias, Tena

2B...Freeman

Util....Miller, Palacios, Clement

But every one of them can play second base.

The first three are plus defenders, maybe elite.

I dont worry about the kids below them, because the FO has eight to sort out before getting to them....and then there is Chang.

But that is a the total list of ten MIFs that need to be on the 40 man in December, and I dont see the FO rostering ten MIFs, while fielding a contending team next season.

Except for Tena, all are on schedule to be in Columbus or above at some point next year. We can't play nine MIFs on two playing rosters...and we can't develop anybody by sitting him on a bench.

Other GMs are well aware of our cornucopia of MIF talent and the roster squeeze we are in. My guess is that when they come calling, the names in order that they ask about are...

Amed, Rocchio, Freeman, Gimenez, and Arias. The first three are players that could be centerpieces in a major trade. The next two are players that could be central in a more modest trade, or secondary in a block buster. The rest could be throw ins.

so.. you agree.. you've added four guys to the list that Bracho would be behind.. no argument there.. it's just not MY list.. It's a list you adjusted to reflect lots of other guys that you disagreed with..

This is semantics.. I'd put Yu Chang and four other guys in front of Bracho too.. These five guys on my list, are minor leaguers, they do not retain their "rookie status" at the ML level (maximum 150 AB's) and are being developed in the Guardians' minor league system.. That's why the list was posted in the thread titled "minor league thread"..

So, at the end of the day.. we mostly agree.. Thoughts?

Both.. it's posted in another thread..I'll find it..

here it is:

...there is a heirarchy of talent.. and a different order of readiness.. If you were to rate the Indians [infield] prospects in order of readiness/talent combined.. you might conclude:

1B 1st: Bobby Bradley 2nd: Johnkensey Noel 3rd Nolan Jones Else: Owen Miller
2B 1st: Tyler Freeman 2nd: Brayan Rocchio 3rd: Ernie Clement Else: Richie Palacios, Aaron Bracho
SS 1st: Gabriel Arias 2nd: Angel Martinez 3rd: Jose Tena Else: Carson Tucker, Tyler Freeman
3B 1st: Nolan Jones 2nd: Gabriel Arias 3rd: Gabriel Rodriquez Else: Milan Tolentino

On this list.. I could see an argument for:

-Rocchio over Freeman @ 2B..
& eventually,
-Angel Martinez over Gabriel Arias @ SS
-Nolan Jones over Bobby Bradley @ 1B
-Gabriel Arias over Nolan Jones.. @ 3B
Brayan Rocchio is a SS. Full stop.

Rocchio is still being crossed trained at 2B and 3B though... They want him to be able to handle all three positions..
Food for thought -- Baseball's top prospect coming to the year was SS Wander Franco...he's played SS, 3B, and even a game at 2B, for the whatever it takes Rays.

From what I've seen, it's not that he cannot play SS or 3B.. it's just that he's best suited at 2B.. middle of the diamond.. turning the DP.. using the big baseball brain he has for the good of the team.. and no ego..

Are you talking about Rocchio should be at 2B over SS?

Rocchio is a shortstop until he proves the bat warrants him being a utility player instead.

He’s a SS with elite ability to play elsewhere if the bat doesn’t come.

The most natural SS in the system since Lindor.

Are you talking about Rocchio should be at 2B over SS?
Yes... he doesn't have a SS's arm...and all the comparisons to Little O, aside..no one had the hands/transfer that Omar had... Brayan has the range and mind of a middle infielder that will compete at the highest level of baseball.... imho..he can be an all star and gold glove caliber player at 2B.. and JAG at SS..

Thats the Rays in a nutshell though... they kind of expect guys to play multiple positions if they possibly can...

The arm is average, certainly will not inhibit him playing SS.

He’s also not old enough to buy a drink, and thus far we can expect some growth here.
