2021 Season | Series #48 | White Sox @ Indians | Sep. 23 - 26

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Berto starts the seventh with 110 MPH double to left center. He hit that one on the screws.

Mercado singles the other way, and we have something going.

Mercado swipes second without a throw.

Straw goes full...singles Berto in.

Straw <== moving on first pitch in Rosario's AB..

Crochet, the lefty, faces the Hamster...

Down 0-2, Jose takes two balls...three...bounces to short, to second for the force...called safe at first, but that will be overturned.

Bradley.. just bit hard on that deeek..

Not the best outing for McStix.. Loved what we're seeing in the last two outings by Gose.. more to come.. The hitting was absent all day.. partially because of stress/fatigue.. partially because it's approaching the end of the season.. Enough baseball decisions are made by the players as they take it to the house (as the season ends).. we'll see..

Really ignorant comment..
Based on what? Your bias toward all managers and their decision making particularly regarding relievers? If you can point toward some sound baseball strategies employed by Hale, I’m all ears.

Has nothing to do with MY bias..

He has generally just stayed in the tradition of Tito which is generally sound decisions with occasional lapses defaulting to "old school" thought.

It's hard to know how much actually is on the manager though. I believe Tito overpitched Bieber and Hale over pitched TMac for instance but I'd imagine a lot of the limits come from above.

I don't think tactics/strategy are really all that incredibly important for managers though compared to other skills which I believe Tito did excel at. I think Hale is fine at those though.

We are in spring training mode.

In game decisions in spring training dont always coincide with winning ball games...and they don't right now.

Hale could go with his best lineup every day and ride his best relievers every day the rest of the way, but that isn't his job description right now.

His job is to hold tryouts.
