2021 Series #12 | Indians @ Mariners | May 13-16, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hear you you about the shift, but I hate seeing infielder playing short RF, like we’re playing a rover in softball.....lol

Something has to happen to make offense produce better overall or else you're gonna risk accelerating a decline in popularity. There's no way around that fact, this isn't what the casual fan wants. So the question is what do you do? Change the ball or restrict where fielders can stand? What are the other options?

I think an automated strike zone would help hitters out a ton, but that is likely not on the table.

ChiSox finish off the Twinkies. Lead up to 1.5 games.

ChiSox home to KC, starting tomorrow. The beat is likely to go on...

Well the lineup doesn't have Gimenez in even though it's a RHP today. He needs to get ABs if we are going to keep him up here honestly...

Have to think the writing is on the wall. Gimenez is about to go down.

Who will replace him??? One of the Outfielders - Zimmer (last chance before DFA), Mercado or Johnson? Or do we welcome Miller to the tribe officially??

I don't think writing is exactly on the wall since he is the best defensive SS on the roster... But it does either say he isn't healthy or something behind the scenes is going on

@BimboColesHair do you know anything about Gimenez's playing time at all?

Maybe the ML roster... Gabriel Arias ain't no slouch with the glove. Of course Arias isn't next in line though.

Eh... I have a hunch it's something behind the scenes and just sitting today rather than getting sent down, but from a paper perspective, it just hasn't looked good to platoon him like they have. He needs to play and face lefties normally. I get if you don't want him to face a dominant lefty, but otherwise I feel like he needs the everyday ABs and innings so he can also get some confidence back as well. I dont think he has confidence right now. That's just a hunch though

Look like they pick the bat over the glove tonight....Harold Ramirez over Gimenez

Still it's a Right handed pitcher isn't it? Shouldn't we be playing Gimenez since it's a righty? Some of the decisions right now are questionable but it is early and you have to give Francona the benefit of the doubt.

Headed to the game on Saturday! First live sporting even in some time and first baseball game for my son... to say I'm excited is an understatement. I might eat 10 hot dogs just because.

I'm sure my 4 year old will enjoy the anemic offensive production :chuckle:
What a wonderful time you will have.

I hope it goes better than my scheduled first Tribe game, which was the fifth game of the 1954 World Series.

Thanks to two guys named Willie Mays and Dusty Rhodes, it never happened.

The first game I actually did see featured my all time favorite player, Rocky Colavito, and a relatively unknown relief pitcher named Johnny Klipstein, who came into the ninth to save a 3-2 Tribe win.

Amed had four hits yesterday - they need to keep him in the lineup in hopes he's on a hot streak. As for Harold Ramirez over Gimenez, well, Gimenez has been non-existant at the dish and shaky in the field and HRam's line drive style of hitting should play well in this park.

Gimenez has four hits in his last 39 AB's.

In a crime against humanity, CLE must suffer thru another series with Angel "missed call" as part of the umpire crew.
Missed call is slated to be behind the plate for Fridays game.

This is the 3rd time in the past 4 series. What gives???
