He hasn't shown anything in AAA or MLB this year to make me think he's worth keeping on the 40.

Nah, but feel free to pull my post history and let me know if I'm wrong. With the way 2020 went with covid I wouldn't be surprised if my 2019 schtick spilled over.

I think it's pretty clear that Johnson isn't good enough.

With Straw joining Zimmer and Johnson, we have 3 speedy defense-focused outfielders. I'd have to think that Johnson is the odd man out here so if you want to see Johnson gone you might get your wish quickly. Straw actually appears to have decent OBP potential alongside his good defense and speed (which is how he has 2 WAR this year). Still his lack of power makes him a below average overall hitter but I'll take it if he provides some good D and gets on base enough.

Does Zimmer not call for the catch? Will Straw end this type of horrendous outfield play in the field?

I am not sure if he isn't just pressing or if he just doesn't care enough (from the way he got treated in preseason, he may have lost some motivation here)

Fundamentals got thrown out the window this season. Pretty shocking considering its a Tito managed team. But it's his worst roster in Cleveland since taking over. Spring training can't come soon enough.

But we are over .500 with the worst team we have had in Cleveland in a decade... Could be way worse

I guess I never thought of Tito as a "fundamentals" coach, more of a players' coach whose strength is keeping the team together and motivated. But with about half the team coming from AAA it's hard not to expect for things to go wrong.
