Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know if we can answer the Zimmer or Mercado question yet. Good news is that we don't have to because we have the remainder of the season to see how they perform. If, and that's a big if HRam gives us something with the bat that either Zimmer or Mercado can't it is quickly nullified by the significant difference between HRam's defense compared to Zimmer and Mercado's. Many here probably think that I'm an offensive oriented fan, but the truth is I like some balance. I'll take a player that can mash and make the routine plays over a defensive wizard that couldn't break a paper bag with his swing.

Well, if Naylor is a lock then why would they trade for an "everyday OF"? I don't believe he is because I don't believe he's that good. Other's disagree and for the record I hope they're right and I'm wrong.
I like Naylor, but my confidence in him getting a shot at a regular role stems from the FO seemingly liking him even more than me :)

I actually think you are 100% correct, and that's unfortunate from my POV.

Yeah I got nothing against the guy but he's still young and at the moment I want to see Zimmer, maybe with Mercado getting some ABs vs LHP.

I agree with @CDAV45 about just letting the rest of the season playing out, assessing what we got, and such. The K's are still scary for Zimmer but he can play defense and can probably get on base enough to not murder us with his bat.

Of course, Naylor has nothing to do with playing time for the rest of this season…I have been hoping they would prioritize AB’s for Mercado over HRam, as I still think he can potentially be an average bat to go with strong defense. I have nothing against Zimmer…actually think he’d be an excellent 4th OF type.

The nice thing about having Zimmer as a starting outfielder is that you can replace or improve upon his production so very easily.

That IS a nice thing, isn't it?

Zimmer is okay against righties, Mercado is okay against lefties, can easily platoon them at one corner if we find a better option.

Zimmer had 25-30 home run ability . Always has but the injury’s have taken its toll on his body. Maybe now he is finally healthy?

So how about that Rosario guy outplaying the former Indian that's making $341 Million?
