2022-2023 NBA Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nba officiating dished out 46 fts to the Lakers last night.

Austin Reaves has a last 4 games line of 13, 18, 9, 13 attempts.

His previous 15 games before that, 60 FTA.

Color me skeptical that the league wants to see the purple and gold get in.

Zion Williamson has not played against the Cavs in almost 2 years and Jonathan Isaac since 2019 WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Zion Williamson is shaping up to be one of the most bizarre busts in NBA history. Hard to remember anyone who looked so good when he did play but had so much trouble playing.

I guess Embiid would be the hopeful version of his story, took him over three years to get the injury stuff straight too…

Zion was the easiest red flag to spot; perhaps even moreso than Greg Oden and his differently lengthed legs. Extreme weight, extremely violent playing style, valgus legs, and a history of right lower extremity injuries literally every year since his sophomore year doesnt bode well for longevity. I've been called a hater for awhile for warning against heavy investment in him. He could absolutely turn it around, but its not looking good.

I don't really watch many games that aren't Cavs. I know nothing about those guys games at all. I think they only played Zion one time ever

Him ripping out of the shoe did it for me. That's what his joints and ligaments are going through

direct correlation between his knock knee and right lower extremity, More likely to fuckup his hip then knee

Im not *positive* of your point, so I apologize if it seems like Im arguing against something youre not stating.

The fact that his legs are already in a structurally compromised position is bad for a player of his size and playing style. Whether directly caused by it, or not, the fact that his right side has been consistently weakened by various injuries makes that already structurally compromised base even more structurally compromised. If hes getting hurt *beyond* where you'd expect, thats a bigger red flag that you'd want.

Him getting injured while ripping out of his shoe should've scared people...especially since it was a pretty common move. The shoe ripping could've be chalked up to shitty quality, but him getting hurt on a simple change of direction should've terrified folks.

you can't really pinpoint where in his lower body movement chain the injury is going to pop up. Compromise in one area affects all other areas as these muscles and joints all have to work together. Could even wind up giving him back problems.

Almost all his injuries have been somewhere in the right leg. You're absolutely right that you cant pinpoint where an injury is gonna pop up, but nothing about his body makeup, playing style or diet makes me confident the concerns will go away.

His gait isn't right either. It sucks, he is an amazing specimen, but he is sort of set up for failure.
