I'm surprised we are even talking about why Boogie would be a bad fit. Im not sure he is a good culture fit to start. At this point in his career and after the injuries, he is a huge defensive liability. Like Love but slower.

Offensively, he isnt a great fit either. Hes an okay spacer but ball dominant and likes to play out of the high post. He looked good last year bc Denver could just run the same sets they do for Joker and take advantage of Cousins's good passing and high post presence. He does still have a strong low post game, but thats always a win for the defense if you go for a post up instead of PnR or some motion.

There is a reason he and dwight are playing for Taiwanese league MVP this year. And I am a huge fan of his game, just don't think he does what we need

hopefully Khalifa Diop pans out in a year or two as a backup enforcer type... the guy has a body of a menacing screener and looks athletic enough for the NBA... whether he is a willing defender or screener, we still don't know yet...

We must use Lopez’s 6 fouls and 2 flagrants tomorrow, can’t waist a single one.

Then he turns around and demonstrates why nobody wants him:

"Have I made mistakes? Absolutely. Have I done things the wrong way? Absolutely. For that, I’m very apologetic. But I’ve done even more things the correct way and I’ve done even more positive things compared to my negatives. I just don’t want those positives to be overlooked. And obviously, whenever it gets to the point where the negatives outweigh the positives, you should probably move away from him. That’s just how life goes. But I don’t believe I’m in that boat. I’m just asking for a chance to show my growth as a man and a player.”

Refuses responsibility and just totally oblivious.

Just looking through a few stats at cleaningtheglass.com I noticed the Cavs' rank last defensively in defending corner 3's. Opponents are hitting 46.6% of their corner 3's. The Sixers lead the NBA at 28.3%.

I don't know why the other 29 teams are ALL better at defending the corner 3 than the Cavs, but they need to get better.

The Cavs rank 3rd in defensive efficiency so their inability to defend 3's has not had a big impact on their defense. But if they could get better at closing on those shots and forcing more misses they would be even better.

More fun with stats. Guess which five-man lineup is sixth in the NBA in on/off as of today?

If you guessed Mitchell/LeVert/Wade/Mobley/Allen - you're right! That lineup has outscored opponents by 24.5 points per 100 possessions (they only have 105 possessions, by the way).

First place goes to the Sixers' lineup of Maxey, Thybulle, Harris, Tucker, and Embiid at +33.4 points in 106 possessions.

Put Osman in for Wade in that Cavs' lineup and we're still at +21.4.

How much of this is just shooting variance this early in the season? Iirc last year boston was terrible defending the 3 to start and ended average by the end of the season bc players stopped hitting a higher than expected percent
