5 of our next 6 games are against teams in the bottom 11 of the league in scoring margin, plus Sacramento, who is 4-5 away from home. We could be looking at a 19-9 or even 20-8 team when this stretch completes.

Eh, I don't have a problem with him hitting the ground a lot when there is actual contact. It's actually the safest way to fall, and I am glad DG and DM hit the ground a lot. I'll take bumps and bruises over knee issues ala Derrick Rose. He would have benefited a lot from falling down.

It's the constant complaining to the refs, "Who me?!?!", whining, and the dirty play that bother me with Embiid. Luckily he didn't throw himself at anybody's knees last night, at least that I saw.
He kicked Diakite's legs out from under him on one of the first plays.

It sure allowed the cavs to get a lot of fast break points. I'm no doctor tho. Seems like lots of opportunities for injury for both players when a 7footer as heavy as Embiid goes flailing around like that

Around a fourth of the season through and...

Cavs have wins against 8 of the top 12 in the East.

Boston x2, Philly, Atlanta, Miami, Wizards, Knicks, Chicago, Themselves x4 (vs Toronto, Sacramento, Clippers, Golden State)

They have yet to play Brooklyn and Indiana.

They're still searching for wins against Toronto (oh, those wins will come) and Milwaukee (one of the best teams in the league). Have another swing against the Bucks and Raptors this month at home. Will be playing the Pacers and Nets this December.

Cavs have a chance to beat every East team by the beginning of the new year. Cleveland is currently tied with Boston for the best record against the conference (12-4).

I’m very happy where we are sitting at this point we have the 3rd best record in the east and top 8 in the nba. With all the injuries and the addition of Mitchell couldn’t asked for a better start. Cedi has been more consistent and Mobley is coming around and garland and Mitchell looking better and better this team has 2 more gears imo. 1 the addition of Rubio in January or February and 2 the continuance of garland and Mitchell getting better with each other and finally Mobley reaching his ceiling which we are 2 years away. What a great time to be a Cavs fan

Agree to this except Mobley isn’t going to reach his ceiling in the next two years. I would think that is 4-5 years away. Hes only 21

I wanted to be 16-4 at this point, but I didn't plan on all the injuries: Garland, Mitchell, Allen, LeVert, Love. I'm satisfied, given the injuries.
How does a team get to 16-4 after 22 games?

TBH, the only loss I am pissed about was the first Milwaukee game. They were so depleted, we absolutely should have won that game. I might be pissed about how some of the other losses went down (last Toronto game, for example), but none of those 7 Ls were that disappointing to me, at the top level.

Oh, that post was based upon this image after 20 games:

At the start of the year I remembered our 1986 team started off 16-4. I wanted us to duplicate that.

Watching the Sixers game I was thinking this was a glimpse of what this team could look like once it all comes together. Caris LeVert was playing up to his ability - 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists. When LeVert, Mitchell, and Garland are all playing well and when we're getting a strong game out of Okoro (11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, +20 in 22 minutes) the Cavaliers are a really good team even without Allen and Love.

When the Big Four of Garland, Mitchell, Mobley and Allen get support from Wade, Love, LeVert, and Okoro or Cedi or Stevens (and eventually Rubio) this team can compete with anybody and beat the crap out of most teams. I know the Sixers were missing a lot in Harden and Maxey but a 28-point win is still impressive, especially since the Sixers had never lost by more than 10 even when Embiid was out.

I don't know if we'll ever have the top nine or ten players all available at the same time but if we do this team will be able to give anybody everything they can handle. I doubt they could win a playoff series against Boston or Milwaukee due to the presence of Tatum and Giannis (the team with the best player will win), but the Cavs could realistically end up third in the East this year. They are there already and will only get better.

We'd be 14-6 if the refs had not made two really bad calls against us in the final two minutes of the Clippers game, calls the NBA admitted were wrong the next day.

I studiously avoid 'What if' speculation about referees' calls. They're out of our control. I treat them like weather. Ignore them if bad, enjoy them if good.

Looks like Stevens is on the mend and Love is getting closer

The fact that JA is already listed as out is a bit of a concern; my initial reaction was that he might miss a game or two , but this is ostensibly more serious

I think the worry would be it’s less of a hip injury and more of a back issue.
