Knicks lose in Miami Weds night - we're now four games up on them with eight to play and four games out of 3rd place behind red-hot Philly. IOW, we're locked into 4th place with eight games to play, which is awesome. And five of the last eight games are against teams well below .500.

JBB can manage the workload of his starters, get Rubio the right amount of minutes as he continues his comeback, and work on some things the Cavs need to improve on, like defensive rebounding and inbounding the ball without getting it stolen.

Am i correct in saying if we win tomorrow we will be locked into playoffs as we would hold tie breakers over miami/nets + Heat and Nets play each other meaning one will be on 35 losses at least
Close, but incorrect. We would have the tiebreaker over Brooklyn with a win tonight, but we do not have the tiebreaker over Miami.

Even though we split the season series against the Heat 2-2, they will finish ahead of us in any scenario where we finish with the same record as them, because they would be division winners.

With a win tonight, our magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 1.

But all top 5 are fine to gather in the happenings around the league, EPM, LEBRON, RAPTOR, RAPM.
I will say one thing I like about EPM in particular is how usable it is in the early parts of the season. RAPTOR in particular tends to be super noisy until around Nov/Dec (about 30ish games) in. They try to adjust by doing some back projection based on prior years but thats also how you get stuff like Cavs are the 10th best team in the league after 20 games this year.

Would love to see our heavy minutes guys playing just enough to stay sharp. I'm a broken record, but I still think we are going to need shooters come playoff time. I would like to see D Green get some regular minutes to get back to game speed. And I like Green's experience in the playoffs. I would also like to see if we can rehabilitate Wade (physically or psychologically). What he provided before injury would be pretty handy to have in the playoffs and we could surely use an extra PF to go against the Knicks. I have this feeling we are going to need one of them, and neither is going to be ready to play after rusting on the bench for a month.

With 2 games remaining against Orlando, do we get bonus points by clinching our magic number while playing the Magic?

The dad joke enthusiast in my finds this way funnier than it should be.

Ahh I thought it was division record not winner, thanks

This is incredibly unlikely but boston has been playing .500 ball the last 10 games, If they continue to struggle there is a very small window cavs could end up the 3 seed.

Pretty consequential evening for playoff seeding. Knicks lost at Orlando.

4 Cavs 47-28
5 Knicks 42-33
6 Miami 40-34

7 Brooklyn 39-34

Don't pencil the Knicks in for the 5 seed just yet...

I would rather play the Knicks than the Heat so hopefully Knicks can beat the Heat next week. We have the 4th seed well and truly wrapped up now. Our remaining schedule we only play one team above .500 and thats the Knicks

I would also prefer the Knicks. Would *really* love the Nets, but that ship has sailed...
