I'm not over looking the first round, but I hope Boston can recapture the 1st seed. I feel we have a better chance at them than MIL. They're only 2.5 games back with 1 remaining game against MIL on their schedule.

The way the top 3 teams have been playing lately, Boston will most likely end up with the 3rd seed.

I would rather play the Knicks than the Heat so hopefully Knicks can beat the Heat next week. We have the 4th seed well and truly wrapped up now. Our remaining schedule we only play one team above .500 and thats the Knicks
These conflicting scenarios are going to have the conspiracy theorists flummoxed: Does the "NBA prefer" the Kevin Love revenge story line or the Donovan Mitchell trade storyline?

I want Milwaukee.

I want Evan to match up with Giannis for a whole series. I want him to see what dominant greatness looks like and be all the more inspired to get there himself.

I want Garland to have to deal with Jrue Holiday nipping at him under playoff physicality.

I want Allen to bang with Portis and Lopez, two dudes who know all about being tough in the postseason.

To be the best you have to beat the best. Let’s get our guys used to the standard right away after they knock off New York in 5.

:chuckle:

The Bucks are up 2.5 on the Celtics (5-5 in their last 10) and 3.0 on Philly. The Cavs will almost surely play Milwaukee if they beat the #5 seed in the first round.

I love your attitude. This is how I felt in the 80s and 90s when the Cavs may have been the 2nd best team in the East behind Detroit and Chicago. Chicago was in our division when winning a division meant something. I knew if we could get past Jordan and the Bulls we could win. But we couldn't.

Still I don't regret the experience of banging with Chicago.

Need Mobley to continue to get better and to add 15-20 pounds of muscle/fill out his body and we will be ready for Milwaukee

Im less concerned about the number of pounds hes carrying, but am absolutely wanting to make sure his strength improves. If that means more weight, that fine, but I need him to get stronger with the ball and less able to be moved off his spot so easily.

Mobley needs to add weight very very judiciously. He can guard 1-5 because he's not your typical 250 pound center/power forward. I'd like him to get that Sabonis/Giannis bullish strength while staying around 230-235.

The Sixers lose to Golden State Friday so the Cavs are 3.0 games out of 3rd place. The Sixers play the second game of a back-to-back on the road tonight in Phoenix (23-12 at home), so if they lose there it's 2.5 games. Then after a day off they play Denver on the road, their 3rd game in four nights on the road. The Nuggets are 30-6 at home.

Don't look now but if the Sixers lose in Phoenix and Denver while the Cavs beat Houston they'll be 1.5 games behind Philly on Tuesday. The Cavs will have four games left against Charlotte, Orlando, and Indy plus a home game against the Knicks and on the road against Atlanta. Meanwhile the Sixers would have road games at Milwaukee, Brooklyn, and Atlanta and home games against Boston, Toronto, and Dallas.

There's still a chance for the Cavs to finish 3rd but the Sixers have the tiebreaker so the Cavs would have to finish 6-1 while the Sixers go 3-6. Not very likely.

The loss column is why the Cavaliers have no chance to catch Philly.

I'm not sure we would gain much getting to the #3 seed anyway. The scenario is pretty much the same - We would have homecourt over a team we should beat in round 1 and be a sizable underdog in round 2. Granted, I'd rather take my chances with Boston than the Bucks in round 2, but there's not a huge difference. The teams we will play down the stretch will be fighting hard to lose every game in the Wemby lottery so it will be very hard to lose enough games to get out of the #4 spot no matter what we do. I think we'd be better off getting our core 6 or 7 some rest even if it means a loss or two. Given minutes played lately, it looks like JBB may have already given up on Stevens being the way to go. More reasons to get D Green, D Wade and maybe even Windler some minutes and see if they are playable in April. What could it hurt at this point?
