2022 American League Central Division Champions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tidbit from Meisel:

No pitcher in baseball has made more appearances this season than Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase. No pitcher in baseball has recorded more saves this season than Clase’s 40, the most by a Cleveland reliever since Joe Borowski miraculously and implausibly registered 45 (with a 5.07 ERA) in 2007.

And yet Clase feels strong. The Guardians aren’t panicked about his workload. Why is that?

Well, Clase has topped the 20-pitch mark in only five of his 75 appearances. He has exceeded 15 pitches in only 15 of his 75 appearances. So, 80 percent of the time, he’s made quick work of the opposition. In 44 of his 75 appearances, he has thrown 10 pitches or fewer.

“He is so efficient,” Francona said.

Absolutely hate that the MLB makes us wait to see what time playoff games are. Shit is less than a week away, I get it you want the big market teams to occupy the night slots, but get fucked. I’ve taken off work Friday since I have tickets and am trying to plan out a babysitter but can’t give them a time. Very frustrating.

Agreed. Trying to plan a trip from out of town without knowing when the game is. Lame.

If the Guards play the Rays it will be a 1 PM or 2 PM start.

There's a stay at home dad that can be contacted that posts regularly on this forum.... perhaps some "volume" babysitting?..

Saturday as well?

Most likely.

They aren't going to have the Seattle fanbase's games going on at 10 or 11 am PST, especially on a Friday.

It's not pandering to the large market fanbases that's holding up the announcement of game times. Who is playing who isn't even set yet, kind of hard to cement a schedule because of that.

But the way things are set w/r to matchups right now I'd say with high confidence you'd see:

Cleveland vs Tampa - 1 PM
St Louis vs Philly - 2 PM
Toronto vs Seattle - 4 PM
NYM vs SD - 8 PM

Going off of Bimbo's post above, below are the times that each game is likely to start and I agree with his order of games, as the standings currently hold that the Guardians will be the 2pm game if they play Tampa or 7pm if they play Seattle.

2:00pm
4:30pm
7:00pm
9:30pm

These (within 7 minutes) were the start times of the 2019 ALDS/NLDS and 2021 ALDS/NLDS series where all 4 series were going on the same day on a Friday.

For Saturday, I would expect the same start times with potentially 30 minute variance

@sportscoach would you stop calling it round 1 and round 2? There is accepted, official terminology for these playoff series goddamnit.
