2022 American League Central Division Champions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There should be 0 mention of "choking", or "shrinking in the moment" or any of that bullshit.

There is literally no outcome at this point that will dampen my mood about the season and how big of a success it was. Choking and shrinking in the moment typically comes with expectations, and this team should have none as far as the fanbase is concerned.

Also, if you think this team is going to lie down and just die without a fight, you haven't been following them during the season...and, well...

Truthfully, we had them right where we wanted them! If we capitalize on bases loaded with one out we win game 1. That moment right there could've decided the series. Anything can happen in baseball! We can definitely still win!

Oh, wait....too soon?!?

Nothing like a game thread or/r/clevelandguardians to remind you there are people that don't follow this team like we do.

It's simple. The Guardians put the ball in play, and sometimes it finds gloves. Amazing that the casuals can't understand that.

This series is far from over and I couldn't ask for two better pitchers for game 2 and 3.

We can nitpick Quantrill coming back out for the 6th, or Gonzalez starting in right, and I think that's fine. But if you're gonna complain about the offense then you haven't been watching Cleveland baseball this year.

Let's fucking go.

Anyone interested in an offseason trade for Rhys Hoskins as 1B/DH?

Career 145 wRc+ and 399 OBP vs LHP

He'd be a full time player, obviously. Playing 1B vs LHP and DH vs RHP. Still can rotate Gonzalez, Naylor, Brennan for 2 remaining spots.

Just want to add on to this.

The team themselves have heard the "playing with house money", "ahead of schedule" stuff themselves as well.

That clubhouse is fully in the "fuck that" mentality when it comes to that thinking. They're in the postseason, they want to win every game they play. They aren't satisfied and they aren't happy with ending their season anytime soon. It's never a guarantee to get back into the postseason, and their mindset hasn't strayed away from that. A message shared to them by their out-of-touch manager.

They don't reflect the fan feelings in how they are viewing these games and the results. In case anyone was wondering if they've heard these kind of messages.

You never know when you’re going to get back. Scratch and claw for every win. Glad this scrappy group isn’t folding like some of their fan base. I don’t know that they’re going to beat NY, but there is no reason to fear them or feel like 1-0 or even 2-0 is an insurmountable lead. Fuck that. Keep grinding.
