2022 CFP Peach Bowl | #4 Ohio State vs. #1 Georgia | December 31st, 2022 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why did the defense play man to man on that Georgia touchdown? Made no sense.
Everyone hates prevent but you people back to prevent shit plays like that. Aggravating that you can play prevent and still blitz: that Georgia QB seemed rattled at times and the defense didn't put enough pressure on him

You know I've searched and looked for some hard and fast rulebook explanation and it's just not there.

Neither is it in the NFL. It seems it's just been fairly ambiguous.

But I swear watch the national title game and see where they spot the ball when a guy is going out of bounds. It'll be where the ball crosses the out of bounds plane, even if the player hasn't technically touched down out of bounds yet.

It was posted earlier in this thread I believe.

You are correct

That's always the rule. Watch any football game where a receiver taps his feet inbounds while catching a pass. Even if he then falls forward before touching out of bounds the ball will be marked where his feet touched in bounds. I have no idea how they could justify that first down.

It’s almost Wednesday, and I’m still bitter.

How do they blow that game/get screwed out of it? Everything was set up for them to win. This should have been the 3rd title in 20 years.

I know there are penalties that can be called all the time, but this is right next to the ball carrier. Where else are officials looking at this point in the play?
