And, per Baseball reference, we now have the youngest team based on %s played by players (both hitting 26.2 and pitching 26.6).

And, I would say pitching is going to get younger. You have to look at how they use guys.... Chang only played once in 2 weeks before getting canned. Gose has 12 appearances in 40 games. But, that is only ahead of Allen Sr and Castro, McCarty and Tully .... even behind Santos even though here for more games on mlb roster. Since May 9th ... he has only pitched May 13 (down 11-6) and 24th (down 7-3).

When Kar comes back, he will be optioned down. Also note, Herrin was called up to AAA this week .... so now they have Miko and Herrin as possible 40 man additions.

Gose has no options left and he can file for free agency I believe. So its keep or cut with Gose...

So what did you think of his OF play AZ? He doesn't look like a gold glover, but is it safe to say he's better than Naylor in your opinion?

Good to see him get off to a good start offensively, but I'll temper my excitement until he gets a few more games under his belt.

Stabbing at it a bit out there, but the ground he was able to cover was surprising and his ability to track the ball certainly seemed playable.

Would like to see him track over his left shoulder into the gaps, as well as getting more looks at how his arm tracks to the bases as well.

Overall, thought he put together multiple quality at-bats and earned himself more opportunities out there.

Yeah he looked a little awkward making that catch at the wall, but it looked like he might have been worried about extending his arm. I'll need to see more.

I too would like to see him make a play toward the gap, but his arm looks pretty solid.

I guess I'm happy that he doesn't look like a total turd out there in case his bat does play. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

113mph off Skubal up the middle is no chump hit.

Oppo down the line against 99 on the corner vs. Soto is genuine.

That’s going to play even if you look like a baby giraffe out in RF.

I know this might sound crazy, but I’m still hoping Will Benson get a little hot streak , and maybe he gets a look…..I believe he only 23 still, I’m desperate for some avg corner help, I will hold my breath on OG , ……Having gave up up on Kwan, but he looking more and more like OF depth type player…..

I'm actually hoping Benson can replace Mercado personally....

Will Benson.....

Excellent outfield defense.... Can handle all three spots, but center could be a little dicey.

Runs and runs.. Pinch running check.

Can't hit but when he does it goes a long way. Also takes a bunch of walks..

As a 4th outfielder you could certainly do worse.

If he ever figures out how to make consistent contact - he plays ML baseball no doubt.

The outfield is shaking out - Harold Ramirez, Zimmer, Daniel Johnson gone. Kwan, Palacios, Gonzalez up. Naylor to first base. Rosario playing some left field. Mercado hanging on by a thread.

And an option burning Valera has gone from a slow start to a full on attack. Curious to see how this shakes out in 2022.

I think we need to decide between Naylor or Franmil for DH come 2023 -- if we are serious about putting a winning product on the field.

By far the 2 worst defensive players on the ball club.

We don't have the offense to make up for defensive miscues. And I also don't want to follow the CWS trend of playing DH players everywhere.

The question is what could we get for Franmil?

We will definitely get something decent with now 30 DHs across the league. St Louis is trotting Pujols out there. Being trade partners of the past, I would look there come winter meetings.

What would you give for him at the present? I'd like to see him get his shit together and OGon continue to hit. Then we could see a much more enjoyable lineup. Imagine facing JRam, a normal Reyes, Naylor, and an effective OGon.

Hmm.

Maybe someone like a Tolentino? Or a Curry? too much? too little? I really don't know.
