Franmil just didn’t seem to give a fuck about actually improving.

27 year old established hitter in the bigs gets sent down, yeah, feelings were indeed hurt, as if the team was giving up on him in a sense.

Or

Rewind it back to Michael Brantley and how he/trainers/the club dealt with his injury and working back in, he didn't have good words to say. Franmil had a bad one last year and obviously hasn't been the same.

Reyes was so cool, and he could really be a showstopper. Still, I do not expect him to become Big Papi II.

Now watch Boston claim him.

I wish Franmil the best and his terrible season has been very unfortunate for him and the Guardians. Clearly there is a difference making hitter in there somewhere and I have no qualms whatsoever how they handled the situation. You can't just quickly give up on a hitter like that. I also have no desire to know the exact reason for the designation because I'm happy to not have DH wrapped up by someone who cannot play defense. The problem/question is do we have or can we get a hitter like Reyes was while being defensively capable?

Was Reyes unvaccinated? We have a series in Toronto coming up, and they don't let you in if you're unvaccinated. Team just cutting our losses now?

Aaaaand that's why cutting Call when we did was a stupid move. Even if he was a lock in their minds to get DFA in the offseason, we're now left with every day ABs from either Benson, who's overmatched and not even close to getting a hit (expecting a ticket to Columbus any day) and a struggling Miller and his 610 OPS vs LHP or N. Jones who can't hit a FB right up the middle off a lefty. Enjoy.
Would have been nice to have a competent hitter that gives LHP troubles to get him out.

Reyes this year had a .445 OPS vs. lefties and a .656 OPS vs. righties.

He wasn't scaring any left handers this year.

Why do you believe Call would fare any better?
