Not at the same overall stature, but the all-around failure of the Bauer / Franmil+ trade parallels the all-around failure of the Kyrie / Sexton trade - if Collin doesn’t sign an extension.

But basically every team involved lost.

ETA: … although, you could argue that we turned some of the other failed parts of the Kyrie trade into good stuff.

It’s nice if none of those LH bats can handle LH pitching.

Kwan can. Has proven so at every level as a player too. A debut season hitting .289/.330 against same handed pitching for a LHH should erase any idea of platooning him moving forward.

Valera has a higher OPS vs LHP this season in AA than he does vs RHP. He’s not going to be brought up and debut as a platoon player.

Palacios has hit LHP at every level.

Brennan, who should be added to the 40 this winter, has hit LHP at every level.

Sure, they’re LH heavy, but they have multiple lefties who can handle LHP. If they can hit LHP who cares which side they swing the bat from?
What do you envision for Brennan going forward Bimbo? I can't see how he can be worked in without limiting Straw unless Jones and Benson flop. Personally, he'd get the chance to be my CFer going forward, but I just don't see that happening. If I asked you this before I apologize, but I don't recall doing so.

TF on Reyes:

“It’s difficult when you know a guy can get hot and carry a team,” said manager Terry Francona when asked to evaluate Reyes’ season. “His swing and miss comes with the territory. But he wasn’t getting to the fastball and he was hitting the hanging breaking ball for a single and an occasional home run. He just wasn’t getting to pitches that he used to.”

When asked if the Guardians ever talked about letting the 270-pound Reyes play his way out of his slump so he could produce like he had over his last two full seasons (2020 and 2021), Francona said, “I would say yes, but there is an exception. Sometimes when you see different like body-wise. You see things different and you’re not sure he’s going to do it. So there is some hesitancy there when you see things like that.”
I was alluding to this, but was replied with "except he is".

You could watch him and know he wasn't getting to the fastball. Just things my eyes noticed. His bat speed was brought up as not the problem. But on TV it seemed that way.

My roommate's cousin's sister-in-law's barber had bullpen seats for today's game and overheard a conversation between bullpen catcher Ricky Pacione and Bryan Shaw. Apparently Tito caught Franmil cheating during their cribbage match and an hour later his locker was packed up for good.

Like Earl Weaver once said to Ross Grimsley: "Do you know how to cheat? Well, you'd better start now."

Better option in house or outside of house?
They seem reluctant to give Benson a shot at 1B, they know more than anyone if he's not ready.

Benson or Jones should man 1st for Naylor and I'd be satisfied come Winter/Spring.

When measuring Owen statistically, he screams below average 2B as far as hitter goes, pop, obp, ops, etc.

Since 5/1. stat line for Miller:

56 for 269 .208/255 /297

Throw in the iron glove and there has to be a better
option.
That's why I suggested he might be the next to be DFA'd after Reyes, Call, Mercado, Zimmer, etc.

He can't compete with Rosario, Gimenez, Freeman, Arias, and others at 2B/SS. His bat doesn't play as a corner infielder. He doesn't hit for average or power and he doesn't walk. His glove doesn't play at 1B. What is his role on this team going forward?
