2022 Cleveland Guardians Regular Season Thread

I've been a STH since 2017. Went from full, full, half, quarter, quarter, quarter to extremely close to not renewing for next year.

The perks of being a STH have slowly dwindled by the year, and not just because I've scaled back on my package.

When I first started, it was stated in The Season Ticket Agreement that if you sold 50% of your tickets, you'd be subject to having your season tickets cancelled due to "broker activity". Starting in maybe 2019, they removed that specific 50% and it's more or less up to their interpretation but I think that 50% level is the magic number even if they don't say it. As far as 33Y0's experience, I received a similar email in maybe 2018 that rubbed me the wrong way as I was approaching that 50% mark. With that said, it is part of the Season Ticket Agreement that you agreed to when you signed up for season tickets.

It is annoying to not be able to do whatever you want with the tickets that you paid for. However, without it in place coupled with their weak attendance, I think the secondary market would be overwhelmed with dirt cheap tickets that would take away from box office purchases. Plus, they for sure want to avoid being embarrassed like they were with Cubs fans in the 2016 World Series that their postseason ticket resale policy is extremely strict.
The policy was in place for 2016.

People just didn't care. I took the 16 grand profit for 9 tickets to games 6 and 7. It was worth the risk of getting my 400 dollar season tickets canceled next year.

It was not wise of the team to let someone who bought 20 tickets all year buy 8 tickets to every playoff game before the public got to them. It should've been limited to the number of seats you had season tickets for. 2 seats? You're maxed out at 2 tickets per game.

Totally ridiculous. G's are smart baseball people, but poor at customer service.
Join me at the Cavs games where ticket holders get treated like kings.
Happily! Going on year two with QST for the Cavs and couldn’t be happier with them! Where are your tickets there? Grab a beer with ya!

I do find it ironic that people are quick to say the Cavs know how to treat their STHs.

My last ticket rep was really, really good but she moved on for a new job. The new kid that has been my rep now for 1-2 years is like any other rep I've had for the Indians/Guardians- mostly clueless and not super helpful. The Cavs haven't really done anything in the last 2 years that resemble "rolling out the red carpet". But they haven't pissed me off, which the Indians/Guardians have, so I guess they have that going for them.
Out of curiosity, what kind of plan do you have and for what seats?

This is my first year of season tickets with the Cavs, and every step of the way they have gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service, randomly sent me memorabilia, host private season ticket holder events, and routinely give perk after perk. Their whole thing is getting you to feel special so you spend more money, and at least for me it worked.

I had a full season package for 17/18 and 18/19, and now have a quarter package. Always up in Loudville

As far as events, I know they typically do the "Cavs State of the Union" event before the season starts and then the rest are mostly tailored, in my opinion, to people who have children. The perks are good and fine, but I think mostly standard. Before the Indians/Guardians started to chip away at perks, I thought their perks were much better. I'd say my previous rep went above and beyond in her customer service but my new guy must've went to the Guardians Rep Training School because he's useless other than spamming me emails about buying a suite/premium seating or emailing me four days in a row after the Cavs traded for Donovan Mitchell to try to get me to upgrade my membership.

This is my first season as a QST holder and I have been very impressed. The purchasing process was a breeze, they constantly email updates about what’s going on, and I had an issue where I didn’t get sent my discount card and after emailing my rep, it couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes and it was in my inbox.

Still early but they’ve been great to work with

Do we want TB or Sea?
Personally, I'd like to avoid Tampa and their two lefties if possible.

I feel like the majority of this board is still scarred from our last series with Seattle and wants to avoid them. I say let them come across the country to play three in our house (and our time zone).

Since the All-Star break (American League):

Houston 45-23
Cleveland 44-25
Toronto 40-26
Seattle 36-29
Baltimore 36-31
Tampa 35-32
Angels 34-33
Yankees 33-33

If we can get past the Rays or Mariners we have a shot at getting to the A.L. Championship series.

However, playoff baseball is different from regular season baseball - you only need three starters and sometimes four. Teams that have really good #1's and #2's have a big advantage.

Regular season series we beat the Rays. Someone mentioned that doesn't really matter in post-season.

I was one that didn't want anything to do with Seattle... After thinking it over I'm starting to lean back towards the Mariners... Time zone is huge, (They have been playing in Seattle). Also, their lack of playoff experience could play a significant factor! Longest playoff drought of 21 years. And of course as you said, the left handed pitchers for Tampa who are really good!

As I mentioned in my prior post, my 2nd season with QST and I still couldn't be happier. Always email updates, ton of great perks and other types of events, they make you feel welcome and appreciated.. are you planning to go to the STH event that's... next week I think?

Seattle. To be the best you have to beat the best, and Seattle has had the KinderGuardians' number since the beginning of the season. I would like to see this team sack up and beat them.

TB just seems to always find a way to be a pest in the postseason. I like the Gs chances better in a longer series with them.

Personally I want to face Tampa, as I would like one last chance to see Cleveland play MLB baseball in person and that would end up being Cleveland vs. Seattle in the ALCS

Guardians win their division and the majority of the recent posts are of the Cavs and their ticket sales department. Believe it should be on the Cavs board.
