2022 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And maybe that leads to teams not taking many WRs early? The first round just becomes lineman, QBs and DBs?

And even more so for running backs, since the upside is lower, bust rate is higher. Defensive linemen also seem to do poorly as well.

Bleacher Report

Safest first-round picks: Safety, linebacker, interior offensive line
At safety, you're three times more likely to draft a Pro Bowler than a bust in the first round. And only the interior offensive line positions have produced All-Pros more frequently.
Riskiest first-round picks: Running back, defensive line, wide receiver
There are more busts than Pro Bowlers coming out of the first round at running back and defensive line, while it's about even for wide receivers.
Biggest tossups in the first round: Quarterback, cornerback
Quarterback is the only position above 40 percent when it comes to producing both Pro Bowlers and busts over the 25-year sample. It remains above 30 percent in both areas in the 10-year sample.

Not sure I've seen a better 2022 corner than Andrew Booth.

Stingley is great, but he doesn't move like this dude.

FYI: I’ve committed to doing some NFL Draft content for RealBrownsFans this season.

Even with high expectations for the product on the field, what would this site be without in-season Draft talk?

Will be putting together some “Who to Watch This Week” pieces during the CFB season, but also would like to some mailbag questions that myself (or my fellow RBF contributors) could provide some long form answers to.

Which prospects are you guys most excited to watch this season?

Very much looking forward to this - I especially like the idea of the “Who to watch this week” to keep tabs on certain guys.

@AZ_ ! Yes! Excited for you doing this.

To piggyback off of this, some match ups. College has a lot of teams or matchups where it’s just too one-sided, but if you could get those games where there are 2 NFL prospects across the ball from one another, that would be great. Maybe that was your plan but just in case.

So I know this would be guess work on your part but highlight some of those positions you feel the browns may ultimately have some interest in, especially in the earlier rounds.

Seems like another good WR class.

Maybe colleges are getting better and preparing WRs. You might be able to find really good ones in the 3rd or 4th round every year.

It's more a result of the growth of spread offenses throughout College and High School. When you run a lot of 4 and 5 WR sets in college and HS, eventually you're going to see in uptick in good WR's and DB's as a result. I think we've been hitting the start of that over the past couple years. It's the same reason why there has been fewer-and-fewer high level LB prospects over the years. The more passing offenses have evolved teams are opting to use an additional DB or pass rusher over an LB.

Plus NFL teams are running a lot more college concepts and relying less on one alpha receiver like in the past.

I'm looking forward to watching the draft eligible defensive ends of the B1G to see who stands out. Harrison, Karlaftis, or Hutchinson could all be first round targets for the Browns depending on how they produce this year.

Very interested in wrs, d line both tackle and end, safety and interior o line. I have a feeling those spots may be targeted next year.

Too early to be a Stan for Garrett Wilson as the best WR prospect to ever come out of Ohio State?
Honestly, I think Wilson and Olave might both be the best they've had since Cris Carter, right? Even David Boston didn't have the production and ability as Wilson and Olave.
