2022 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, if the Browns wind up having a chance at this dude, something has gone wrong.

What can you even say? He and Thibodeaux from Oregon are the top two players in the draft right now, IMO.

6’4’’ 225 pounds seems patently insane for a Safety, how much of an outlier is that size for that position? It would be kinda funny after all the talk about Wu being more of a Safety than a LB to go ahead and draft a Safety who is bigger than him.

When I think of big, elite safeties I go to Derwin and Adams. Their combine measurements were around 215, and neither guy is 6'4"

So if this guy's measurements are true, that's a big boy.

Hamsah Nasirildeen was the big guy in this class, and I think he's 6'3", 215.

Kam Chancellor was 6'3", 231.

I would do anything to get Kyle Hamilton. His range is… special. If he can’t do literally anything else, he’d still be a ridiculously good safety playing CF.

He's going to be elite in pretty much all measurables, but I'd imagine his HT/WT profile figures to have him in the top 5-10%.

Who are some players who jumped out to you yesterday?

Still have quite a few highlights to watch of the games I missed, but here were a few guys who played well yesterday:

Andrew Booth - CB - Clemson
Noah Cain - RB - Penn St.
Jack Sanborn - LB - Wisconsin
Carson Strong - QB - Nevada

The bad? Well, the 2022 Quarterback buzz is off to a heinous start.

JT Daniels, Michael Penix, Spencer Rattler and Sam Howell put up week one clunkers.

Will write up a notebook this week and hopefully can include some clips.

I still think that Ridder and Rattler are the only two draftable QBs, and I don’t like either.

I’m so glad we are not taking a QB.

Don't like Rattler at all, Ridder I need to watch a bit more of this season to see how he's progressed.

Caught the highlight throw he made this week, but he had quite a long way to go last year when I saw him. To me, he might be the most gifted QB in this draft from a talent perspective.

Will touch on the state of the QB race in the draft piece this year, with Baker still unsigned, will be worth kicking around on mid-round QBs you'd look to develop under Stefanski.

Ridder reminds me a LOT of Josh Allen as a prospect. There’s flashes where it’s just there.

Rattler is… He’s a guy who needs to stay, and won’t. But he’s demonstratively better than the rest of this shit class (outside of Ridder for me).

i buy the measurements at this point, especially with how relatively lean he looks compared to someone like Kam. Kam clocked in at 4.69 in the 40 at the combine and I’d be astonished if Hamilton wasn’t considerably faster than that.

He’s such an intriguing prospect.

We arent taking a QB at the top of our draft, but this could be the draft where Berry takes a late round qb, you never know on that.

What positions do we draft in our first 3 rounds? More WR? DE? OL for depth and cheaper options?

DL
LB
OL

In that order IMO. DL looks suspect aside from a few "what-if" players. The OL is getting expensive and up there in age. Its time to find a developmental piece for C & guard (a fall back for Wyatt needs to be considered). LB, is #2, but thats only because I want to see Jok on the field and where Taki & Mack are.

What late-round QB investments have panned out in recent memory?

Without a talent dropping like Dak's case, I'm not sure it's an investment that pays dividends anymore. Nobody's paying for the Matt Flynns of the world anymore.

I think backup QB is a position you can address via free agency without spending draft assets.

I really dont disagree, QB is over drafted now more than ever so no late round ones seem to drop. Wilson? Dak? Both were 3rd/4th rounders who probably go in the late 1st today.

Dak was the 7th QB taken in 2016, only 3 went in the first round that year. this year 5 went in the 1at, and the 7th QB was Kellen Mond in the 3rd.

I guess pay attention to Kyle Trask and Kellon Mond, both had some buzz around them like Wilson and Daq, but both fell out of the 1st.

Hurts fell to the second, but obviously we don’t know whether he’s good or not yet.
