2022 Game #1 | #2 Ohio State vs. #5 Notre Dame | September 3rd, 2022 @ 7:30 PM EST

Which one? not sure theres a bathroom I havent puked in on high street

Have you been to high street on campus recently? It sucks. All the old bars have been torn down and replaced with cookie cutter corporate crap. Frankly like most of Columbus. Though short north is still aight. And the Stube lives on…

I don’t recognize a damn thing down there. The Stube and Library are about all from my time. I’m not sure if Out R Inn is still around or not.

Not recently no … even though I just moved back to Columbus last year. That is unfortunate.

I’m still wrapping my head around this game

ND had the 3 longest pass plays. JSN and MH had 59 yards on 14 targets. Both OSU RBs individually outrushed ND as a team (if you include sacks). OSU gave up 10 points and had to sweat it out.

So radically different from what was expected. Hopefully the offensive wonkiness was due in large part to JSN being out.

Stroud doesn’t have many game minutes logged with Egbuka, Fleming and MHJ. We also shuffled along the offensive line. I think preseason is good and all, but game reps are necessary to fully help the offense recalibrate. I’m also convinced stroud has a thing where he’s just off on opening days, but whatever — that’s probably not true.

I think to an extent (this is just my opinion) that it was collectively underestimated how challlenging some of the offensive changes might be while you’re trying to face a formidable opponent in the first game while underscoring said changes. I know not having JSN didn’t help at all and he’s the key to CJ’s heart but I think reps are needed to get the unit more confident and comfortable. Moreover I think Day didn’t allow to get the rush consistently going early because he kept reverting to throwing after a good run play. I’m hoping this was a learning experience for him too.
I’m absolutely convinced that game is a loss in 2021.

I expected the offense to look elite and the defense to only show signs of improvement; I did not expect a holistically badass performance from end to end like that defensively. I don’t really care about the long completions albeit it wasn’t awesome to see Burke get roasted on one of the deep balls.

Not saying I’m not concerned, but the offensive line taking over late was beyond promising to me. I didn’t think the defense was capable of a performance like that until later in the season. How we hold up against a Wiscy or PSU remains to be seen but that was promising and I’m glad we won a game like that under Day.

Will never forget my first year at OSU. My roommate every night said he was going to “the library.” Took me months to realize it was a bar.

Library bar is still there as well. But so many of the old places are gone. I feel bad for the kids today that they don’t get the old OSU experience.

Meh. Week 1. Seemed like the offense wasnt in sync yet and they were going to need to find a way to gut it out. Which they did. Tune up games incoming.

I did not think we could win a game in Tresselball fashion, but I suppose it was appropriate given we honored the 02 team during the game.

It feels so good to have a defense again. I could almost cry :chuckle:

For awhile there I was concerned about our inability to run the ball (carrying over from late last year) but that 4th Quarter was just awesome. And to see Day adjust like he did and shove it down their throats was extremely encouraging.

Not at all worried about the passing game, that will come. Hopefully JSN's injury isn't too serious.

Lastly, I was at the Oregon game last year as well...the difference in the environment between a fucking noon kickoff vs a night kickoff is truly significant. I can't even explain how different the energy was in The Shoe in those two games. Fuck FOX and their Big Noon kickoffs, I never wanna see another big game at noon here again unless it's in late November.

Too’s was a pretty solid spot as well, I saw on Twitter that it’s now a Chick-Fil-A.

Still holding onto the Stube, Library, VC and Thirsty Scholar.

I second the thoughts on how much the bar scene has changed on campus.

It's tragic TBH. Barely recognize it up there.

It's kinda funny how much the students come down to the Short North/Park Street nowadays.
