2022 Minor League Week 06 Games Thread (5/10-5/15/22)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tolman! Dude is hitting the shit out of the ball. I know he's a 27 yr old AAA player, but still. He should get a chance somewhere.

Firework show in Columbus tonight 7-5 to in the top of the 3rd - Clippers leading.

OGonz - 2 for 2 - a single and a 3 run homer.... 9 homers on the year, 30 RBIs in 32 games so far.

OGonz hasn't piled more on, but the score sits 9-7 Clips in the bottom of the 7th, and again... Who the F does Mitchell Tolman thinks he is?

Tolman 3-3 with 2 doubles, homerun 3rbi and 1BB. He has 8 doubles, 4 homeruns, 22 walks and 18k in 30 games.

Don't look now, but Fry is starting to heat up. He's kind of interesting to me.

Well Tolman hasn't put up numbers that he has lately anywhere in the minors honestly... I almost feel like he has changed his mentality between SF and here and it allowed him to take off cause of it. Like he has never been that high in BB rate and that low in SO rate.

Well the Friday games are done for the CLE affiliates and it was another very good day.. The affiliates go 4-0 with a run diff of +9.
They are now 12-4 on the week with a +19 run diff.

Williams up is so exciting. It's early in the season but Civale, Quail, not doing so well. We will have no shortage of BORs to eat innings. But Williams and EspinGOAT are our best shots at true FOR gas-dealing ACES.

LET'S GO

I guess 2 games today & 14 innings played is not enough for St. Paul & Columbus...
Gm 2 is heading into extras thanks to a bottom of the 7th 2 out solo homer by Tyler Freeman.

At the moment the CLE affiliates are 2-3 on the day...

EDIT:
Sac Fly by OscarG scores the winner for Clippers.
The runner placed on 2nd ahead of Oscars at-bat advance to 3rd on a throwing error/ pickoff attempt...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the day the CLE affiliates go 3-3 with a run diff of -15. Columbus swept its doubleheader while Akron split the games it was playing.
On the week the affiliates went 16-8 with a run diff of 0 (zero)...
Onto another group of games on Tuesday 5/17/22...

Surprised to see Allen with such a bad game. Wonder what happened?

Nikhazy didn't have a very good outing either..

To determine "what happened".. context needs to be revealed..

A few things to remember .... he did have 10 ks in 5 innings. The other team was swinging away. And, the 3 HRs were the first given up since the first game.

Of the 3 HRs ... two were low knee to thigh high middle of the plate ... one on a 1-2 count. Thus, he missed the location. The other one was a throw away pitch .... thrown away from plate even and over the shoulder that the kids just got a hold of (protect type swing) that just carried.

And, his defense didn't help him that much. In 3rd inning, first guy hit a grounder between ss and 3rd, legit hit. Next guy hit a excuse me flair in that nomad zone behind 3rd that fell. No one was really even near it. Yet, 2 pitches before the home run, there was a pop fly behind 3rd in foul ground. Tena ran almost into Scheeman and both gave up on the ball thinking the other had it only for it to drop.

And, one of the hits before the 2nd HR was a fly ball to right that Valera had to run for but slide and hit his glove and popped out.

So maybe not his night on location and a bit of bad fielding .... Yet, it is good that we can jump on these guys for a bad game where they get 10ks. It's kind of like McK ... you can have good stuff but you got to learn that MLB hitters will catch most of your mistakes (so you cannot make any).

Thanks Pete! There will be nights when even the best pitchers struggle. I'm not worried in the slightest as long as he's healthy.
